@@JohnHaile when I was there Mallory had mentioned that the land owner wanted to put in a motorhome park next door. Wondering if they are putting pressure on EPC? 🤔
@@robertkocher3534 I know that there had been some disagreements between the park owners and the land owners. I’m not sure if is the motorhome, something else, or both. But it seems like it’s multiple issues 😢💔
I look up liquid leisure. I guess they closed essentially because a girl died in the aqua park. Thus they had to close the aqua park indefinitely and the beach. So they lost a lot of revenue. They probably also could not get insurance anymore, or rates were going to be super high. They were also probably being threatened with a lawsuit I imagine.
According to Inside Wake they are going to stay open, luckily. Really want to go there. Excerpt from their recent newsletter a few days ago: "After the shocking statement about the permanent closure of the well-known Liquid Leisure cable park, there is now good news: The cable will continue running. According to our sources, the management was able to resolve the necessary insurance issues at the last minute and can now continue running the cable. We are delighted that this legendary wake park will remain part of the scene!"
I don’t know the exact details, I just heard a rumor that she died in an area just outside of the aquapark. Regardless it’s a horrible thing to have happened. Prayers to her family 💔😢
Would help if you explained why the park is closing and what the petition hopes to accomplish. My assumption is that it just doesn't earn enough revenue. Thus I assume the petition is to ask the government for funding?
I think that's what it might take. Similar to how governments build skateparks and have public pools. Otherwise I think cable parks in the US are headed for extinction. Unless you have the right lake with an amazing aqua park and other activities, it's hard to keep things going.
@@JohnHaile 100%. I want to see it grow. I've been to a lot of the parks around the US and you can see a lot are having a tough go at it. Fun to ride the butter but not good for business. Really appreciated the Mike Olson Grab Matters episode recently. I think wake (cable) needs more of those conversations.
i heard that they have some sort of bad relationship with the property owners. since elite opened, the people who owned the property haven't always been too nice, and eventually it got to expensive to keep the park open, therefore they had to shut down.
