Yeah that's a weird one. I was wondering whether it was 2 for corner cutting on entry, 5 for speeding and then 2 on exit. But watching it back, it warned going in but didn't show any penalties. I paused as it crossed the line at 52kph but again, didn't flash up any pit lane speeding and on the exit, it just said corner cutting multiple times 3 points, but then showed 9 points. So not sure whether it was an accumulation that only showed up when back on the track or just a plain simple bug.

Exactly, IRL would be a 3 second penalty, so P1 deserved!.

the track irl is going to use the barrier system that nascar and indycar use at ovals called safer barriers. they definitely work as since they’ve been implemented in nascar there have been some nasty crashes and zero deaths

@@quackplayshorn You rarely experience head on impacts in Nascar, whereas it seems there are a few places here where a mechanical fault, puncture, or collision with another car could send a driver head first into a barrier at top speed with very little time for braking. Not unheard of on other tracks, but this seems like a step up

Personally I think overheating is gonna be a big issue for Lewis. If Max outqualifies Lewis Max is winning this race. If theres safety cars Lewis isnt winning cuz hes going to have to stop before Max and hed come behind others holding him up massively

@@paoaiipi5580 Merc engine wear extremely fast and when the walls are this close dirty air is way worse. Also keep in mind the car runs in very high revs for 90% of the lap.

@@zachdoran10 had one instance in a career mode race in Brazil where I was on a hot lap in Brazil and coming down the Curva del Sol I believe towards turn 4, and Ricciardo came out of the pits and immediately went onto the racing line and I scraped past him, my rear wheel completely obliterated his right side wheels and he had to retire, I just kept going with my lap and somehow had no damage lol

@@polyphonydigital yeah I did but it was so obvious. The track is so narrow and nowhere for debris to go except middle of the track. Turn 1&2 were always going to be a problem.

Turn 4 is a place where someone could spin i always spin in turn 4

I think it's one of these tracks that can be fun to drive on (like hotlaps) but really sucks for racing.

I think it’ll be great with the new regs. Dirty air won’t be an issue next year so I think we could see some wheel to wheel action
