I was surprised to see a northbound train with the strike only hours away. It was fairly quiet out there this afternoon. This should be my last CP train video until the strike is over. NOTICE: The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference ( www.teamstersrail.ca ) represents all 4,800 of the conductors, yardmen, locomotive engineers and rail traffic controllers. The major issues are work rules, fatigue management, and Pension plan. On April 26, 2012 Teamsters announced that 95% of its members had voted to go on strike. On May 19, 2012 Teamsters issued a 72 hours strike notice that will take effect on May 23rd at 0:01. CP has completed the safe and structured shut down of freight operations on its Canadian network.
