Hi Geoff, "Last Train To Clarksville" is one of the most melodic and rhythmic tunes I've ever heard. The playing, the feel and the tone of the guitar was above the ordinary. A class act. I was so taken in by the tune that couldn't help listening to it a no. of times before commenting. Hope all's well and you are doing good. You never fail to surprise, dear Geoff!! At first, I didn't naturally connect you to this song--and what a mistake that was!!!! It sounds so good!! A favorite of mine--made especially so by the steam engine. My dad became a railroad engineer after the war--remained so the rest of his life. I have many similar pictures of trains. An upbeat, well-loved song that brings 'those of us of a certain age' joy and smiles. Life had not yet hit us with 'real problems'...for the most part, we were healthy, energetic, ready to go!!! "Last Train..." reminds us of those golden years...takes us back for a few moments. Thank you for a superb delivery [as usual], for the wonderful background, and for looking particularly incredible in that ensemble. Yes indeed, a much more pleasant time in our lives Von. Always had "a thing" with steam trains, as a child, remembering my mother taking me to the local level crossing, to see them thundering by. The Monkeys were a fun group that you could not really take seriously, but they kept us amused at the time. Great music, great days, never to be repeated.
