I think it'd be interesting to see what Len goes thru during a set. How you decide on where to fish, what depth, ect.

So glad you and your son enjoy our videos! 😃 We have two working boats, the Fish Tale and Emerald Isle. FT is a 35’ Roberts 11’ beam and the EI is 48’ Musser 14’ beam. Both are fiberglass and do pretty much the same fisheries.

Not a good ending to the Fish Tale today. 23 starfish, 1 undersize halibut, kelp and fog. Nice conditions though and a special guest star, Mr. T. 👍😎

@EISAlaska
@EISAlaska 21 час назад
The Fish Tale is staying with us, no plans to sell her. We’d like to do some work on her as well, a lot of cosmetic work to pretty her back up. That’ll likely be in next year’s schedule.

I love❤ your channel and videos. I’m 73 and your videos and interactions with you and your dad and I guess that young man is your son. ( I’m a new subscriber for about 2 months) I grew up in Woonsocket, RI. Fished fresh water a whole bunch of. BUT saltwater fishing was my calling. In the early sixties we fished in our 14 then later a 16 foot boat, Narragansett Bay out of Point Judith. Also both ends of the Cape Cod Canal, Cape Cod Bay to the north and Sandwich Bay to the south. Catching some big flounder, haddock, codfish, pollock and strip bass when they were running. Also in Cap Cod Bay when the Spanish Mackerel were running we would bring like a 35 gallon plastic trash can and catch enough mackerel to pay for a week end of fishing & camping out. Even hooked up to a Giant Blue Fin Tuna with a Penn Senator reel and amount five foot stiff pole. Mackerel for bait. Dad was laughing at me until I hooked up with it in about five minutes. With amazement in both our eyes and faces we seen the Tuna (very large) in about 15 minutes just swimming around until i pulled really hard on that rod with 50 pound test and the Tuna broke off. We both cried in excitement, amazement and hugged. I WAS TRYING TO CATCH A LARGE SHARK. Sharks would hit the mackerel that we were catching on literally tackle mostly smaller ones but we would see big ones around 10 footers. Later years I had fished Virginia Beaches and costal waters. I was a Navy jet mechanic stationed at NAS Norfolk. Later stationed at NAS Jacksonville were I lived for over 30 years after I married a sweet, beautiful native Florida girl and working on one airport as a Federal Aviation Administration certified aircraft and Powerplant mechanic. And had three different boats during that time. Fishing was great. No boats now but fishing coastal waters and some fresh water. This old man will end here with my biggest fish. A king mackerel about 35 pounds, a Tarpon a little over 150 pounds, a tiger shark that was about half the length of my 26 foot boat. And many others by family, friends and others. May each trip be better than the last with full ice boxes. May GOD bless and watch over your boat on every trip on the Alaskan waters. Be safe out there, someone loves you guys…….😎

Kinda looks like starfish skunked on this set 😮. Well besides one P cod. All though we didn't see the whole set coming out in this video. Hopefully something comes up for you in the next video.😊 That's why they call it fishing not catching.😅. See you guys on the next one. 😊

I always love seeing the ingenuity and creativity of fishermen and how that knowledge tends to spread through the community. Like the setup of the shotgun tube. Or if you go look at the Maine lobstermen, or the Crabbers in Maryland. All the little tools and techniques that they've come up with through the years to make things safer and more efficient, and more often than not, built by themselves or someone else in the community.

Tristin has a cool sense of humor,added to the video. Longer gangion looks a little less friendly to use and possibly more dangerous. I believe one of you mentioned why, but even unhooking fish is not as easy,sometimes close fingers to the pinch point.I’m not saying safety first or the best bet would be stay on dry land.

When you pull up a hook that still has bait on it, why don't you reuse the bait and place the hook on the bucket?
@EISAlaska
@EISAlaska 20 часов назад
We do that with octopus since it holds well and keeps putting scent out, but regular bait like cod, herring, and pollock get washed out after a soak.
