If I was stuck on island, all I need is a music player with the album of Sajda. One of the best ghazal albums ever. Lata was probably past her peak but her vocals on this album are sublime and pure. Poetry which is nourishment for the soul set to Jagjit's stirring melodies, digitally recorded. I am speechless and no words from a mere mortal like me can express gratitude for this priceless gift.

These ghazals are a great gift to all the urdu music lovers from Jagjit Singh. I met him in UAE in 2003, he was so down to earth personality and superb singer, composer and master of arranging music... Jagjit Singh told me that he composed these ghazals for great Lata Gee in two years... Such people will never come again....

I am unable to come out from the aura of these songs still remember my school days when I would love to hear these songs on my walkman. Sometimes when I want only me then these songs are my only companion.
I still remember I had to travel 20kms on the other side of the town in Bangkok to buy the 'Cassette tape' the day this album was released in 1991....still love to listen to the heavenly voices of these two maestros....May god bless their eternal souls.

Timeless and priceless music from Jagjit ji and Lata ji,listening and reliving past memories with my father,he would often play these on holidays at home and I would play around him,I was as a small kid then.Eyes become moist when I remember those golden days with my father.

Back in India, I made it a point to buy every LP (Long Playing) Vinyl records which I did most of them. Whenever statyed back from work, the first thing was to play this album on my Stereo and it would be playing as long as I was in the house. Used to stretch on my favorite sofa and listen to this outstanding and amazing album. Lathaji sang many gazals mostly for Madan Mohanji for films, so singing a gazal was a child's play. Now Jagjit Singhji (king of gazals) combines with her to create an outstanding and melodius album aptly titled Sajda. After coming to USA, collected most of his gazals on CDs, couple of them always in one car or the other. Thank you Lathaji and Jagjit Singhji.
I don't know urdo..i didn't know Ghazal..but since I hear Jagjit, I felt positively attract to the Music of this Legend..the way he mix the Music is so good.. with Legendary Lara and right choose of peot;it's goes universally beyond..
