Lataji was such a great singer that her stage performance was also as good as stereo recording without any breathing gaps or gasping for breath while singing. Even Asha ji being a great singer used to used to take a breath in between her singing, but with Lataji you would never see such a habit. Anything we write about her is like lighting a candle in front of the Sun, as they say. She will live forever in her melodious songs.

Lata Mangeshkar was the only singer who never deviated from the original tune as composed by the music director. She never took the liberty of making small changes while singing live which every other singer takes while performing live. This was her greatness and her way of showing respect to the music composer, inspite of the fact that she could have very easily sung her own interpretation of the tune without anyone having the courage to tell her anything!! No wonder she's the only one referred to as Ma Saraswati!!
