I’m amazed at the number of repros. The unpainted one looks really nice. And I never knew they made tree-topper robots.

He looks in pretty good shape for his age. I was thinking that since it was made after the war, factories that used to make weapons were converted to making toys.

That's what the history books tell us. Not only the factories but the design engineers turned to making mechanical toys.

That was an awesomely preserved robot! Love the box, too! This is a type of robot I hope to get for my own collection at some point! Thanks so much for sharing!

My uncle also owns an original 1940's Atomic Robot Man! It's not in its box though I'm afraid

These days you have to be carful so that your not getting a repro being sold as the original thing. But back when I bought mine there were no repro's. The original is made of thicker metal, you can feel the weight difference when you pick it up. There are other differences as well that have been covered on the Alphadrome web site.

I have a few different versions of the repros, including the ornament, but none of the larger guys. The tiny ones are pendants that were made for a limited time by a company that made 3 or 4 different classic toy robots, in those 3 finishes. I snagged a couple of each version, and my mother made me a necklace and earrings. The necklace has all of the version hanging from it

Not only the atomic robot looks like the robot on TV that SpongeBob watching from SpongeBob episode Krab O Borg, but the atomic robot looks like a little bit from Gumby.

@@Barddragonemegencyaccount1999 Being the robot is from the 1940's its no surprise that when a show wants a vintage looking robot they borrow the look.
