@@aymericmercier7678 yeah its because it's only viable now with the way that warmogs was changed with the new split. the benefit to warmogs on mundo is that as a first item, with runes and grasp procs you pretty much proc the passive as soon as you buy it without needing any other items. it also gives you movespeed so it helps you with spacing in lane and you can play without having to upgrade your free boots and be perfectly fast enough to maneuver around the map. the warmogs passive on mundo makes him losing pretty much every single trade ever in lane not a problem since your only concern is health, and you regen it all back in moments. it lets you stay on the map as long as you want since you'll be full hp all the time. the problem is that obviously, you need to get heartsteel no later than 2nd regardless of what item you buy first on mundo and that's been true since they introduced the item. if you get warmogs and heartsteel, anybody with percent max HP damage will obliterate you and do bonkers damage because you have no resistances. this wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for like every champ in the game having percent max HP damage in their kits now. generally you want to go heartsteel first, then a resist item, then titanic as a standard cookie cutter build path in the average mundo game. warmogs first can feel very refreshing in terms of not being constantly pressured anymore, and warmogs into heartsteel can work in some games, but if you're against anybody with percent max HP damage or anybody who builds blade of the ruined king or anybody who is just naturally a tank shredder you're going to be useless and feed your ass off.
@@aymericmercier7678 It's mainly used against champs like Illaoi or Aatrox who just shit on you. Since Mundo sucks early it's delaying your heartsteel scaling for a safer laning phase. It stops them from poking you down and then all-ining you. Hardest part is making it to Warmog's.
@@shulamitwhatsittoya6550 Yeah man, when i'm playing Dr mundo, it's not the late game part that i'm aware of, but the laning phase man, if he couldn't make it, there is no scaling, a good Dr mundo player is the one who pass the laning phase without being left behind!
Yessss Mundo. The champ that taught me a ton about the game because in so many matchups you straight up lose early-mid. Learning to handle that pressure and find a way to leverage a win was a great learning opportunity. Excited to see you play him
Again, thanks for the top climb series in spite of it not being the most fun. You probably already know, but since I've seen you against a Trynd twice now where you're in a bush while within his W range - it allows him to see if there is a champ nearby, even outside of vision. The W will light up regardless. So he can totally tell if you're waiting/recalling in a bush when you're within W range. I remember in one of the earlier videos you were surprised that he "knew" you were in a bush but I didn't want to backseat. So just wanted to throw that out there in case you didn't know
riot has no clue what they want to do with mundo any time they nerf him. he's giga oppressive in low elo because every game goes 50 minutes so they respond by.... damaging his laning even further like with the cleaver nerf you mentioned where he doesn't get a full health refund from killing a unit with Q. phreak in the same video justifying the crippling E nerf last season (it was basically 9/11 for mundo mains) said that in low elo where Mundo was too strong their data tells them that the vast majority of Mundo's damage comes from Q in low elo, and in higher elo the vast majority of his damage comes from auto attacks. So they nerfed his damage scaling from his E passive so his auto attacks would hurt less and didn't touch his Q at all. His winrate was untouched below plat but in diamond and above it dropped over 10% so they hotfix reverted the nerf partially and he still sucked for the rest of the season.
@@PekinWoof a video with all the clips that made the game not post worthy. That way your games that didnt make it could still be used. I personally enjoy both good and bad plays
@@ahmaddaniel6500 I think I'm just not understanding but you want him to edit out the good parts of a game so that it is only the bad parts..? Or are you just asking him to post the entire game unedited? The first sounds insane and the second would no longer be a short.
@@dubiousaurus like clips of what made the game. Fights whether its win or loss, baron loss, dragon loss, getting killed, etc. A vid would consist of several games worth of clips and i think itd be a good series if pekin hired an editor
@@ahmaddaniel6500 I'm still not following but hey maybe you have an idea and I just don't get the vision. You could always do it yourself and if it gets views then maybe he'd hire ya. Worst case you have a channel of your own.
2:30 is a massive toplane fundamentals moment. after killing enemy top and jungle the wave was even. If he instantly bases and teleports back he's in a great spot. instead he overstays to collect a half dead wave which freezes the wave in front of the enemy tower. he's forced to recall, loses an entire cannon wave and then dies to a textbook gank as he's trying to break the freeze.
I don't think wave was even at 2:29 , might want to look again at that. I do think my death was a mistake and could of been done better but definitely the wave was bad
@@PekinWoof you're right that it's not perfectly even. still think insta base+TP would have let you get more last hits and crash the wave sooner to not get ganked
not a mundo player myself but when browsing his kit descriptions ive noted to myself a little trick with passive, when youre not so high on health and the enemy only has 1 cc ability in their kit (like irelia) sometimes it's worth allowing them to proc your passive (granted it's the only thing they do to you) and pick up the bottle since passive proc is current % health and the pickup is the same number of % but it's from max health so youre almost always net positive on that and the lower you were the higher the value
Pekin: Slow pushing minions is where people overextend and get killed in 1v1 on every level, trying to trim the wave. Me: I just found out I'm in silver. Trimming a wave... interesting.
Midlaner: As is written in the prophecy Toplaner: No… it can’t be.. he doesn’t look like us he is a pine marten Midlaner: He knows the language of your lane.. he is climbing .. LISAN AL GAIB TO CHALLENGER TO PARADISE RAHHH RAHHH
Hey Pekin, is this climb on a brand new level 30 smurf or a handleveled one that have leveled? Interested as I'd like to know how after 6 games you are already playing with plats, the MMR must be really high in comparison to the rank of the account
They really changed the bonus hp to AD in titanic into on hit damage scaling with AD so that it wouldn’t bump up AD scaling abilities… And then made a new item with the removed passive so now you can have HP scaling on your AD *and* HP scaling on your on-hit, and if your Mundo HP scaling on your AD *again*
Blade of the ruined king is very good against Mundo.. so champs like sett and a lot of champs can build. It’s wired that tryndamare didn’t build it!!!!!!!
non hate / non dick rider opinion on if you're doing good: I think you're doing okay/prettygood, like you have monk mental and never throw your games so I think being as good as you are at just doing that goes a long long long way. you know good macro/teamfighting for after laning ends obviously at a much higher level than everyone in these games and you've been playing a lot of scaling champs which play into these factors which helps. I will say you've definitely been a bit lucky so far on the bot lane coin flip though
You should read up on these top lane champs more thoroughly before speaking authoritatively on them. Practicing your delivery would also increase your effectiveness. You make quite a few mistakes in your explanation of the champs' kits
If you play Mundo again the Hawaiian skin(thanks to commenter it's pool party) is a legit buff. The sound it makes when you hit your cleaver(ukulele) is so damn satisfying you won't miss another q.
@@zakariaa-tn2yr that's the one! It's not my favorite looking skin overall, but that damn sound effect is so satisfying. The number of times I've just died laughing in an ARAM from constantly plinking with my ukulele I swear. It's so good. Mundo has a lot of good looking skins. But pool party best sound effects.
man you're consistently just the best league streamer to watch, imo. zero overconfidence or egotism, you're always explaining your plays and others' plays and specifically what's likely going through their heads. you're a top level player but still make silly mistakes and you own up to them and then make up for them. really goes to show how people get high ranks; it's all about the mental.
I believe that you have carried your first 4v5 Riven game. and in your second Mundo game, your jungler lacked presence in team fights, you made up for it. KDA is overrated honestly. I know that you joke about being the main character in your games, but you usually are. Im not saying that you are arrogant, and this may sound anime but... you do force the play out of your teammates... boosting their morale and confidence. i've seen it many times.
Pekin before 15 minutes as top: I hate it here, please don't gank for me, I want to play mid. Pekin after 15 minutes as top: I am an actual god this is so fun
0:25 mid elo sounds so unnecessarily offensive just because of how much it's been used with that intention. makes me feel glad i'm low elo instead lmao
Getting ganked top, and not getting any ganks from your jg is 100% top standard play. 80% of the time... they won't even get any objectives or get successful ganks anywhere else. Enemy team = always gank. Your team = always afk farming. Even shako and other "ganking" jungs. Welcome to low tier.
Honestly I was not on board with the Top Lane stuff at first, but after your recent videos I am eagerly awaiting every one. It might just be to see you play something you are not familiar with instead of the "old mid routine". Really looking forward for more. :)
it's funny you say you don't know what you're doing macro-wise cus I feel like, for the games where you aren't steamrolling your lane, your macro is what's pulling you through. Either you roll your lane and draw a huge amount of enemy attention, or you're really instrumental in pivotal mid-to-late fights, so you seem to just have a good sense for where you need to be and when, even if you can't put it into words.
Waiting for the new account to challenger climb….level one account, no already built up mmr, using the free characters and earning new ones and everything
For a bit there Mundo was the highest winrate top laner for Diamond and below, so he's a good champ to climb the lower ranks with, until junglers realise he's a free gank early on
