The rest of it was largely ad hoc, including all of Ferguson and Geoff's interactions after Josh Robert Thompson began voicing Geoff live. Exec producer and "host whisperer" Peter Lassally, Johnny Carson 's producer for 30 years, and Letterman's for a while, was largely responsible for hiring Ferguson. He said Ferguson was the best ad lib in the business. Clearly Thompson was the perfect sidekick, easily matching him quip for quip.
That was excellent! Amazing how long he carried that show all by himself before ol' Geoff really got goin'... This was one of the better ones. Of course the guests really help, they were both great!

Faillon, Kamel, CarBin and the rest of the Late Night losers today have to resort to professional sets, expensive costumes and numerous extras to try to be funny - and very rarely does any of their jokes land. Craig took off his pants and everybody was cracking up - while offending or insulting nobody! We miss you Craig...

The reason why I fantasized about Craig Ferguson getting seriously hurt is that, guinea pigs aren't his favorite house pets. The wolverines are the same thing. What about the armadillos and lemurs? What about the non-venomous snakes? What about the honey badgers?
To people who think they like this show because old things seem better. I've been watching various "late shows" for about a year before not having contact with them. Everyone has some better or worse episodes. Because I watch for a short time, I think I'm quite objective. Ferguson is the best. He only lacked better ideas like, for example, Conan has, but it's probably the fault of the whole team who was responsible for the show
