That IS a lot! Thats 27 million dollars a year for to and from transportation in just ONE county. There's only 180 school days in a year. That means they spend $150,000 every day that those busses go out. Just because other counties might spend more doesn't take away from the fact that this is still utterly wasteful of our tax dollars. The county can drop that kind of money to a private company but teachers have to spend money out their own pockets to decorate a classroom. That is a big problem

When I was in kindergarten and 1st grade, my mother would drop me off at a babysitter and I would walk a little over a half mile to school in a strange neighborhood.
