Crazy how tracking is an adventure in and of itself. Even with quality shots don’t know if you’re on a 30 yard spirit or a 200 yard treasure hunt!

On my way to my first bow hunt ever my dad and I were driving down the hwy in some Missouri River bottoms with corn for miles. We looked to our left and there was a buck running straight at the side of the truck! He noticed the truck and started running parallel with us at 40 mph when we realized he had been double lunged with blood running down his sides. We looked back to see a hunter bust out of the woods by the river frantically looking for the deer. That deer traveled over a mile at that speed 20 yards to our left until he finally peeled off and ran back to the woods against the river. We never saw the deer stumble or fall!

After 6 years, I got my first deer with a bow. A 230 pound doe from Southern Indiana.

This is why I shoot Whitetail with a 715 grain arrow and purposely break legs so they can not go that far. Nice buck.

Just got home from my first Iowa hunting trip, it amazes me how those deer walk around those tower blinds like they don’t exist. When I had deer downwind I kept the windows closed and never had a deer smell me in 5 days of hunting. Passed up a handful of 130-140 class. Saw some Iowa giants too but wasn’t able to connect.

I love those schwacker broadheads I know a lot of people hate on mechanicals but I've never had that broadhead fail on me a single time and I've been using them for 4 years now and shot probably over a dozen deer

Congrats ! I’ve had a similar season. Have a 185”typical 10 I’ve been after all November seen him numerous times never got the deal closed. Had him inside 30 yards twice! Headed back after him in 7 days going to hunt him the rest of the year! 🤞🏻
