Vanish mode lets people send each other disappearing messages, photos, videos and other content in Instagram chats. Content sent in vanish mode disappears when someone leaves the chat or turns vanish mode off. Turn vanish mode on or off. 1. Tap or in the top right of Feed.
You’ll get a notification on Instagram if someone sends you a message in vanish mode. Tap on the notification to enter a chat with them in vanish mode. You’ll also be notified if they send you a new message outside of vanish mode.
When you open a message sent by someone, it reveals that you have opened it by adding a “seen” tag below the message. Sometimes, you may not want to read the message without the other person knowing that you have opened the message.
• Turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi on your smartphone.
• Now, open Instagram and open the message you want to read.
• Once you have read the message, go to settings and log out from Instagram.
• You can now sign in to the app, and it will not show that the message has been seen.
The new labels would add to Instagram’s existing business DM features, including welcome messages and saved replies. Businesses on Facebook can also add similar labels to their chats, though they’re slightly different in application to these more specific tags.
