In this video we are going to use cheap water-based clay, the same often used for pottery in schools, instead of wax-based clay to finally produce a latex mask. Wax based clay is the best option for this however not everyone has the budget for wax clays.

Leave the latex in over night? Seriously? I let mine dwell for 20-30 mins and thsrs it. What kind of latex are you using . I use Monster. Makers rd-407 . Maybe its not available in the UK . Anyways , cool Popeye. Nice work

Thanks! yes this is just professional mould makers latex, I think there are specific mask making types?. This is the standard latex often used for mould making, purely because we had it in stock and wanted to experiment with budget materials such as our potters clay too, to see if it was possible.

Hi awesome work, congrats, by thw way, would like to ask about copy right of the character Popeye, as you know it is very famous character. Did you pay any price about the copyright?

Hi This was a fan made mask by a local artist for himself as a one off . the mould was destroyed and is not being sold therefore no copyright infringement. Kind rgds
