This video shows how to scrape hard soap, such as HCC hard cured or triple mill soap. The method is to use a spoon to scrape soap from the puck, press into the bowl and lather.
That's how I do it and never had an issue getting the lather to build. Hard soaps have the advantage of lasting a LOOOOONG time! Bonus when its all done and you haven't used it all? Just leave the lather in the bowl in your bathroom and close the door. Your bathroom will smell wonderful upon reentering later in the day
