Original title: Media vita in morte sumus.
One of my favourite Gregorian chants. I first came across Media Vita in Enigma's compilation "Enigma 4 - Metamorphosis", but the track was named "Swell-To-Doubt" by the duo Software.
Being a massive Enigma fan, I looked more into it and later discovered the song is using some sample / version of "Media Vita In Morte Sumus".
I knew in the back of my head that one day, I wanted to do my version of it. And here we are! Media Vita In Morte Sumus, more like Media Vita In Dream Ambience!
Original Text:
Media vita in morte sumus
quem quaerimus adjutorem
nisi te, Domine,
qui pro peccatis nostris
juste irasceris?
Sancte Deus,
sancte fortis,
sancte et misericors Salvator:
amarae morti ne tradas nos.
English Translation:
In the midst of life we are in death
of whom may we seek for succour,
but of thee, O Lord,
who for our sins
art justly displeased?
O holy God,
O holy and strong,
O holy and merciful Saviour,
deliver us not to bitter death.
