I was a Latin king out of Yonkers Ny right outside the Bronx I was in the nation for 17 years this video brought back all types of memories and familiar feelings from that Time period…ultra violent and dark pretty scary I had a lot of situations where I thought I was going to be killed even by my own bros at times thank God that period of my life is over and behind me I ended up going to prison a few years ago and still had the tattoos and I was stressed bc kings kept approaching me tryin to salute me and I couldn’t tell them I wasn’t part of it anymore I ended up doing things that almost got me more time having to pretend I still loved the nation while secretly hating it I missed my kids and girl and other family so desperately it overpowered the love of my bros I couldn’t help but despise them when I came home I promised myself and wife and kids I’d never go back to prison and I officially left the nation…that brought me eve more problems that I still have to worry about til this day…I say that to say to the young kids DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT JOINING A GANG Whatever glamor or cool shit you see is an illusion almost everyone I ran with is either dead or in prison now I have nightmares still bc of shit that IVE DONE TO PEOPLE…your life is worth so much more than giving it up for soemoen or something else’s agenda
I didn’t even mention All disciplining I went through for not showing up to meetings or being late or breaking some rule ..one time when I was about 17-18 I came home my entire rib cage from my waist to my armpit was black and blue and swollen from all the punches I had to take for two minutes for soemthing I felt would HELP us…we were having a meeting at a church and I was head of security I notice detectives following us there and then again sittin in the parking lot so I interrupted the meeting made everyoen leave the first Crown told us all to stay nobody go nowhere til it’s over I said Bro there’s cops outside we need to go he ignored it and threatened me with a violation so I said fuck that I’m leaving anyway and took my two other security with me we all got called an hour later and ordered to meet back up somewhere else and we all had to take a violation two minutes of punches from everyone in the squad after about 6-7 seconds my knees started to buckle so they would stop the timer make me get back up or they’d add more seconds to it I almost passed out…I was young and also scared I didn’t know if they’d kill me for straight up going against them and I also felt like I was being honorable by going through with it “like a man” now I see I was brainwashed and misguided I talk to teens all the time now I’ve gotten ALOT of young men to walk away I still get messages from some of them now that they’re older thanking me telling me I changed the course of their future
I'm Guyanese, and did my first bid in P.A back 98, my bunkie was a king who caught a case in reading, being we was both from N.Y him from Brooklyn, me from Queens he had 4 yrs in and him and his bros showed me mad love, i was 18, he thought me how to jail, same when i caught my case in n.y on the island and when i went up top the bros treated me like i was family, being we all have that Caribbean background I truly appreciated that ...
The Latin Kings also had a time of power in Spain, I joined them and it was one of my biggest mistakes. Fortunately I didn’t join in a time where it was the most violent, so I wasn’t really part of many gang wars, and it’s not the US so firearms weren’t really a thing… I one day decided to just not show up anymore, I got tired of going to meetings and paying for nothing. It was nothing like I expected it to be, so I just stopped going. A friend of mine was still inside, he told me they gave me green light… I am still waiting for them to come.
I was born in the Queensbridge Houses during the turbulent 1950s. We had our share of drug gangs and all the misfortunes that drugs bring into our lives. I also survived the Vietnam war and all its dysfunctional violence. Today, I read some of the online testimonials that affect the younger generation. My heart goes out to my community's Hispanic youth. You were exposed to cheap gang related violence since grade/middle school. It seems that you have been ''sold short'' of a so called ''normal'' childhood. Be strong !! Don't forget that gang life leads to prison sentences and worse. In many cases your parents came to the US for a better life. Every time that you get in trouble , you're breaking your mom and dad's hearts. Buena suerte y que tengan unas felices Navidades y Ano Nuevo !!!!
Born and raised in south side Jamaica queens. I’ve seen a lot of things go on between these 2 gangs and one thing I can say for sure, they take “on sight” very serious 😂
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾 Prayers out for those trying to recover from the passing of their loved ones 🕊️ Prayers out for those incarcerated 🕊️ Prayers out for those on that path 🕊️
I remember being in middle school in the early 2000s in LI. The Ms / LK beef was going crazy. What’s crazy is you got a lot of info I didn’t even think was known 😂
King Tone did an interview on Flip Da Script and it’s by far one of the best interviews Iv ever seen from anyone. He speaks about being addicted to crack, becoming a King and how it changed him, how he’s stepped away from the street shit and just tries to help people now. Gave me goosebumps more than once
@@jameskoch3807No he isn't. You're still gangbanging, but spiritually. Jesus is derived from Judaism since he's supposedly from the tribe of Judah and they honor the 6 point star while Muslims honor the 5 point star. I don't even have to break it down any further
Proverbs 4:14-22 Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
the 7/11 they hung outside of was on 62nd and northern right next to the border between woodside/astoria and jackson heights. this neighborhood was never really insanely dangerous, but it was never nice either. i was raised around here and MS and LK are still pretty deep in this area just wayy more lowkey. really nice video tho bro, cool to see some areas im fimiliar with on such a popular video and channel
In the 90’s in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts the LK went to war. The only competition was Los Solidos and the Ñetas. No one who did time during that era can deny this. On the inside, the Aryan Brotherhood and the BOWS (Brotherhood of White Supremacy) held down the woodpile. But it was rough times.
In Massachusetts in the 90s folks an crips ran the county jails. Just saying all 5s an anything that cliqued with 5s was in PC in my county. These is facts wasn't till the so called piece treaty that anything other then crips an Gs lived in general population
heard of a long runnin war in willyb/crossing into bushwick brooklyn ny with trini, vs blood and lk ongoing for over a decade not sure if its still on in that area but a good amount of bodies dropped
As a black girl, it would be cool if there was a movie based on The Latin Kings. I would for sure watch it. Despite The Latin Kings being violence I find them to be really interesting.
@@sedricgilliam2967 but they do stand for alot of things and like I am going to say that I am really affiliated with the latin king's and queens but I will say that I know that they are all about family and there history it goes from generation to generation the older ones pass it to the younger ones with knowledge and everything to be a good King but I know that they do have knowledge and your right knowledge and power is the best thing to have power and knowledge but they are standing for something, amor de Rey black and gold never fold 💯💯🖤🧡👑🤟✌️
I used to work in a frame shop and once helped two Latin kings frame a picture of a dead friend of theirs. I told my coworker that I had helped two gang members and being a woke New Yorker she tried telling me that the Latin Kings aren’t a gang and that it’s all misinformation that has given them a bad reputation. She was and probably still is clueless.
She's not wrong and wrong at the same time, I'm God Body... The nation is not a gang, but many of us do Bang and we all protect fellow Gods n Earths... Many LK's are also God Body
They’re not a gang 🤣 I could understand a woke person saying not all Italians are mafia or not all illegal immigrants have ties to the cartel. But saying Latin Kings isn’t a gang is just purely delusion. It’s like saying the mafia is just a social club founded by guys in waste management 😭🤣
Brentwood hasn’t been a quiet suburb since way before the 2000s… other than that pretty accurate. Suburbs on Long Island can be deceiving so I’m not judging. Many of the larger mother/daughter style homes became multi family dwellings in misleading hoods
i live in long beach ny and the MS 13 is insane out on the island. Example; they somehow got my brother's phone number and my name and tried to call him saying that they had kidnapped me and wanted money or they would kill me. My brother frantically called me where i was currently teaching a middle school gym class hahaha
He was the power and knowledge he put them on the map in NY and something they never seen before and King blood was the one who was not taking no disrespect from any other King or anyone but I respect him and that is what I say when I say amor de Rey 💯💯 to King blood I'm old school compared to alot of the new king's and queens but much respect for all king's and queens
@@texassavage5391 I'm glad you said that shit but I am Best friends with my brother and he is a GD but it's his 6 time in prison too he is a real one I will say that and it's just about respect you know , but a gangster is different than a thug you agree with that one because thug's r punks and run there mouth and gangster's don't have to really say anything or too much at all and move different feel me brother I appreciate you saying that I respect alot of people and that is the main thing and if you r cool then it's all good business is business you know what I'm saying but much respect , where I am at they don't flag and shit but it's about respect but it's all love when someone has respect so I feel u 💯👑🧡🖤🤝
13s had long Island on total lock hempstead,Brentwood far Rockaway especially shit was wild the beef with LK's was total guerrilla warfare to the point where pther gangs back off both sets except for like patrias in east New York who were in too deep vs lks as a teenager in those early 2000s days and having friends in both sets I can tell u that was a time where tomorrow was never promised.
On lock?lol, never, they got it in,never ran anything …impossible ,they hide ALOT ,as to where bloods and crips move around freely unless there’s beef between the two.Seeing an actual Ms member freely walking around has always been scarce.Roosevelt and hempstead is ran by black gangs ,always

MS13 never had a strong hold on City of New York at all there was a short period of time when some random people on the subarbs were claiming MS13 and Tryed to establish them self but they never had a established hood
This kinda makes sense as to why my elementary school best friend (Mestiza Puerto Rican from NY) would put down Mexicans (I’m from CA and she moved there). Until I met her, I didn’t know of any other group but Mexicans so I assumed that that is what she was (I’m Black American). But I felt offended on behalf of Mexicans when she mentioned that she’s PR and I told her my assumption, she said no and called them dirty. I was confused about how she would bring her PR ass to the West Coast and put down the resident Hispanics 😂 I tried her mom’s food and was like “y’all need to stop with the supremacy, take that back to NY.” she was cool though, and of course ended up becoming cool with my Mexican friends so everything turned out fine lol.
you just reminded me of something, my ex gf was also puerto rican, and i remember (this was way before we got together), she admitted that her parents would say racist things about blacks, indians, and mexicans (which is what i am). me and her didn't last long as a couple (for totally different reasons, one of them being that we were long distance), but if we did stay together then i would be putting myself in an extremely uncomfortable situation had her parents found out that their daughter was dating a mexican fella, imagine how that meeting would have gone down
ms 13 aint really mexican tho they do have some but mexicans gangs are like 18st and just about any other sureno gang like Florencia 13, Playboys 13, Avenues 13, basically any gang in california and the west coast LOL either being sureno or norteno
@@albertouthere102 that would’ve been nuts! Glad it didn’t work out lol. Yeah, my ex friend’s mom wouldn’t let us watch BET, but we could watch MTV and VH1. Can you do a video on ABK( Always Banging Kings) gang that originated in Elmhurst, Queens. The gang was different because the members were all from other gangs even ghost kings stick up kids and basically anyone who ever had a problem with other gangs.
The kings are from Chicago NOT New York 1 man From Chicago came to New York and started the kings. This is your 3rd video with inaccurate information. Your first two were Chicago.
@@AjfromWickcity maybe up north but in southern california theres the pasadena LK but the OG who started them claimed he didnt know there already was of a gang called LK when he created the pasa LK....
Correction: "Kings & Queens" is not technically part of Long Island. Brooklyn (Kings)& Queens are 2 of the 5 boroughs that make up NYC (lower NY). Long Island begins at the eastern border of Queens with Nassau County. 😉
These videos are very good but it's hard to binge watch because the inflection in the narrator's voice starts sounding like nails on chalkboard after about the second video. Just talk normal. It would make things so much better.
2:44 I know the full impact could never really compare to the US subjecting the Cuban people to decades of economic terrorism,l and all the suffering that came with it, but the Mariel boatlift was a nice little clap back. Well played Fidel... Well played ✊🏾
Please - let’s get one thing straight. This is in the US - In Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 the Island 🏝️ we don’t play like this at all. We got all colors. We live tight with Dominicans as well. (We are starting to see Asians and Colombians as well) We don’t tolerate no racism - even if someone tried it. Where are you going to where they can’t find you it’s small and no segregation. The rich and the poor have differences but at the end they gotta get along. We got to go the same places at the end of the day. Our most popular artist collaborate with Mexicans. We don’t do gangs we do Projects. Cuba has same types of building historically. Our food is similar to the rest of the Caribbeans - a Jamaican would live happily here and if a Salvadoran would come here he would be accepted - trust. I live here and also lived in Florida in a MS 13 block with Haitians nearby. Also lived in Cali SF so I’ve seen the difference.
@@playboyreaper5966 like I said “we don’t do gangs we do projects” In PR netas and 27 are a prison gang. There’s no “banging” outside like say the crips or bloods - there’s no separation of streets by colors or dress code. That’s my point. Netas is the old school prison and 27 is the new. - now if they were to go to the US I would imagine they would link up with the Latin Kings
This shows that no matter where you are at , you can decide to get caught up in the madness or make an honest living as someone who’s done 12 years I prefer figuring it out in the free world!!
I can confirm as a long islander, that the Latin kings are nearly extinct at this point. They found multiple bodies of young South American teenage boys near my house, MS-13 related, all chopped to pieces by machetes. Truly an insane war. A few Latin Kings are around here and there but it’s virtually just MS-14
You made one mistake. Queens is a whole county by itself. Kings is a part of Brooklyn. Long Island stands by itself. Nassau and Suffolk make up major parts of Long Island.
Dawg I remember going to the Puerto Rican day parade back in early 2000's, being in the subway and seeing the kings marching proudly with a whole flag leading them! Only other place I seen that, was when I was the military.
It's crazy I'm from Brooklyn and I remember LK but I never knew MS was in NY way back then. I never heard of them till the 2000's. That's how you know them dudes ain't no joke. Killers move in silence.
They didn't have much presence in NYC for sure, but a few moved in some parts but without the numbers they were literal weak. MS did began taking over parts of Long Island, usually in towns/areas where Central Americans settled and easily would picked on them too. Latin Kings and Ñetas lost their influences or power during the late 90s. early 00s the Dominicans gangs started to grow but the Trinitarios got bigger and began a rivalry with the Ms-13. But Bloods were their main rivals, if I recall correctly.
@@carlosvasquez2196 That's wild Bro. I remember years ago when my Irish boss was talking about MS when they killed the two little girls in long Island. I was like MS-13?

I met king tone back in the days he saw me rollerblading asked me to do some tricks we kick it for a while he was a humble as dude and said nothing but positive things to me and never once asked me to join or even mention who he really was .. cool dude
I ran the streets in the early 90's and I'm so glad that I managed to get out of it alive. Looking at how complicated it is now days I don't think I could survive. Back then it was easy, it was us against everyone. If you ran with us it didn't matter where you were from. Thru brothers in belief and the never ending quest for respect. For all you young cat repping your colors out there I could tell you that if you manage to make it out you will outgrow that stage of your life. Then you will be like me, you'll see it and laugh about it.
I have people from. my high school mainly kings they still on that BS and in and out of jail I Also went to school with Ms 13 I never had a fallout with them cuz they kept to themselves but the Kings always wanted to start stuff especially if you were black
It's funny how gangs in other cities care about colors outside of Chicago. It was important in 60's and 70's but, despite what the show Gangland say I've NEVER been approached by what color I had on. Now turning my hat or 2 earrings in one ear in the wrong hood is a deathwish
That's an interesting point. I grew up in Miami (Southwest & South Miami, and Hialeah) and was surrounded by gang culture. Different neighborhood, and blocks = different affiliations. But colors were never that important. It was more about tattoos, gang (hand) signs, and tags (pitchforks vs. crowns, etc.). That was in the late 70s & throughout the 80s. I know its changed ever since i left. I moved to the Bay Area (Cali) in 92, and got to understand the different cliques, and beefs, out here. In the early 2000s I was working in The Mission, San Francisco, back then a predominantly Latino neighborhood. My job was on 15th & Capp St. - MS13 Surenos(blue) neighborhood, and i would always get out at the 16th St. train station. One day I was wearing a bright red shirt, and a beaded Cuban flag pendant around my neck. As I came out of the station I was hemmed up by these three cholos rocking blue gear, and fully tatted out. They stepped & demanded that i tell them why I was there, what set I claimed, etc.. all in spanish. I told them that I wasn't a gang member, and didn't mean any disrespect. One of them pulled out my Cuban flag pendant, looked at his boys, and they broke out. Later on, a former parole officer, and gang specialist at my job told me that what saved me was the Cuban flag pendant, and my Cuban accent. She said that a lot (but not all) of Cubans locked up are considered neutral, and not a threat on the outside. At least on the West Coast. Thoughts?
@@pscampoamor Cubans usually run with the Others Car (Pacific islander, Native, Asians)in CDC-R but just can still choose to Run with Blks/N.s/Sur if they have it in Their Hearts and are willing to die in a race riot for another Race.
I literally was born and raised in Brentwood and graduated from Brentwood high school in 2014. Since middle school we were taught to beware of MS. There’s a pattern of them being more quiet some years and then, waves of terror and tragedy again. They’re never not active though. They are absolutely ruthless and nobody is off limits.
Yeah I first moved to Brentwood in 2007 to the east side on broadway by Timbo park i had came home blood that time and we used to link up with the Latin kings to take out those 13 we beefing with them brazy
Long Island is made up of Kings County which is Brooklyn, Queens County, Nassau County and Suffolk County . So he's correct on that. Just because people from the city especially from Brooklyn and Queens just refer to Long Island as Nassau and Suffolk County don't mean it's accurate cause it's not. If you're in any of those 4 counties then you're in Long Island. This is why the signs on the highways says "Eastern L.I" when traveling into Nassau and Suffolk County from Queens.
I wrote an essay about Fidel Castro in College, and you are wrong about him being elected in 1976. Castro TOOK power by force and invaded Havana in 1959. If you ever watched The Godfather part II the scene where Michael Corleone, President Bautista, and other Mafiosos start to evacuate was a great scene they mimic a real historical event. Castro said once he arrived to Havana he was going to kill every Mobster. When they heard Castro was close to invade Havana. They all left back to the U.S. in boats. That’s why in the movie you see Michael Corleone and the others desperately leaving.

Brentwood was wild in the 1980s even. And then when the Kings, Ñetas, Bloods and multiple smaller neighborhood crews were going at it between Brentwood, CI and Bay Shore in the 90s, MS used to get dusted by practically everyone until the mid 2000s. Then shit really blew up when their numbers increased. Brentwood Locos were nothing to play with.
@kevrunnthat Bloods were in 2nd to last place back when I was comin up for sure. Then MS went from being just some rag tag dudes to an absolute army and basically took over Brentwood, CI and North Bay Shore. Then they started killin each other more than anyone.
