Is there more in depth sheet music somewhere like the one shown at end of video? Love the beats but there is so much going on that it is hard to play with nothing to read...do you have a book?
first- thats amazing' thank u very much.. second, what shoould i do with the right hand and the bass drum with all of the rythms u showed at the end? i didnt figured it out! thanks again :)
Hey... if you're still wondering. Its written in the music. So bass is on 1... and3... and1... and3. Your right hand plays the one of the first three patterns he shows on the hi hat, but if you have a bell use that. samba uses agogo bells :-)
very informative well played ! However you leave the viewer with the impression that one might play 4 on the floor (bass drum) which would interfere with the simulation of the sordu part . You also don't play quarter notes in the bass drum during your demonstrations (thank god). Thanks for posting gonna use this info for my samba backing tracks :-)

"Advanced samba patterns". Wow! I don't think he's ever bothered listening to an actual samba recording...
hi there...there is in fact a Samba bassdrum in Bossanova style..but i think this is a mixed fusion and only the title not the best , this guy is a very nice teacher for mee believe me
Technically, bossa is just one of many types of samba (enredo, de roda, duro, caboclho, afro, samba reggae, pagode/partido alto, bossa, etc.. Although American jazz players do not seem to observe the stylistic differences and nuance unless they are into Brazilian music. You could play a canned samba arrangement and just articulate it quietly and call it a bossa, because that is all it is
In my opinion, you're on the wrong accent. The strongest is the 2. And the backing track on the final absolutely isn't on a Samba rhythm. It's a "gringo way" of samba, good for latinjazz (that's not samba). But there is an important rhythmic difference!!
