A Spanish professional vocal coach said about another Dimash performance "This is the first time in my entire life that I've witnessed vocal perfection." A professional Opera Singer/ Coach said "When he sings Opera, he sounds like a professional Opera Singer, when he sings Rock, he sounds like a professional Rock Singer. I've never come across this before." His ability to sing in any style of music from Ukrainian Folk to Chinese Opera, he was due later this year to sing at a Japanese Jazz festival, is simply unparalleled. There has never been a singer like him, he is unique. I think you should listen next to a song from the "Singer Series" called "Autumn Strong." It confirmed his Mega-Star status in China and won him a major award in Hong Kong. Dimash is very smart and musically aware and will complete his Masters in Composition this year. He then will apply to be a PhD student in music. He does know how good he is but he is respectful of others and does his best to let his performances speak to his talent and hard work. He constantly praises his teachers and his inspirations, especially Marat Aitimov, who trained him in classical vocal technique. Marat has performed with him in two of his biggest concerts and Dimash still goes to him for advice.

At my age of almost 55 years I've heard thousands of artists and only one has ever touched my heart and soul at the same time that being Dimash. Dimash sang a "James Bond" style song but it was for a Chinese movie and so he sings in Chinese. "Battle of Memories" is the name. It's spectacular.

The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental Arab technique, is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist: Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash. I'm sorry for my bad English!

You are exactly right. He was born with perfect pitch, and a passion for singing, even as an infant. He entered music academy for young professionals at the age of 5. From that time he has practiced and honed his craft for 2-5 hours every day. He now is 25, so that's 20 solid years. His parents are in opera--Mother sings, Dad composes, produces and sings. To see him singing with them, got to RU-vid Search and put in, "Dimash sings with Parents." The song they sing together was composed by the father as a gift for the mother. The elderly people Dimash goes and visits in the audience are some of his grandparents, who helped raise him.

In fact, Dimash likes to be sung along with him. He's just a fan when the whole room does it. He often lets children sing into the microphone and always praises them. He is very kind, down-to-earth and does not consider himself a star. And his dream (one of them) is for the whole world to sing a song in Kazakh. And we can say that it came true. And as people close to him and fans who managed to communicate with him tell about him, he is really very easy to communicate. And he never runs away or hides from the fans. And the "dears" respond to him with respect, no one tries to tear off a piece of clothing from him and the like. Because the most important thing you can get from meeting him is really just to talk! He is such a beautiful soul, humble, loving, modest, intelligent, respectful of elders, generous, etc etc etc... He was brought up by his paternal grandmother, as a 3-generation family. The bald man who was giving him a standing ovation is Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian songwriter/composer. After this performance, he and Dimash went on to partner on a number of songs. One of them, The Live if Tired Swans, has been made into a beautiful and thought-provoking music video by renown Ukrainian filmmaker Alan Badoev. Dimash is incomparable when he launches into vocal acrobatics. But he also sings some amazingly touching simpler songs. My two favorites are The Meaning of Eternity (in Chinese) and Marigolds (in Ukrainian). Also, he has a pop and rock side of him. Please check out Screaming (the live performance at Idol Hits). He manages to incorporate three cultural elements into a pop song and showed for the first time something else... guess what.😉
