Spanish is the 3rd International language here in Philippines. .we Filipinos often speak spanish words and mix with tagalog/english. dats y its easy for her or for all filipinos to pronounce spanish words fluently.
well we don't purposely speak it but a lot of words that we naturally use are derived from spanish words --- gusto, lugar, trabaho (trabajo), bintana (ventanas) , mesa, etc
Zamboanga City, Philippines. Is considered the Asia’s Latin City. The main language spoken is Chavacano. It’s a Spanish-creole based language. And if I’m not mistaken the only one is Asia.
What i love about Julie is she sings from the heart. You can really connect with the song once she sang it. She's also the only Filipino singer i know that gives justice to foreign songs like this one and Blackpink songs.
I am so happy that you finally got to this cover and did your reactions. FYI alot of Filipinos speak Spanish. We are enjoying all your comments and reactions. More power to the both of you and Gracias por su comemtarious.

@@markcruz359 for centuries Spanish was the official language of the Philippines in education, governance, trade and commerce. It waa replaced by English when Spain lost in the Spanish- American War. Spanish remained part of the school curriculum in HS and college/university until some pretending to be bright boys removed Spanish from the Curriculum in the 1987 Philippine Constitution. It was reinstated in 2007 as an elective course.
I'm a Filipino who's trying to study Spanish but listening to lotsa reggaeton 24/7 especially Bad Bunny, Jhay Cortez, Tainy, all puerto rican artists, i got so used to not pronouncing the s in the end of words and pronounce r's like l's sometimes, creo que tendré un puerto riqueño pronto jajaja
we grew up watching telenovelas like Marimar,Rosalinda,Gata Salvaje.it was Thalia who had the lead role in each of these telenovelas which we also adore as a singer.singing in spanish is never new to us we kinda used to it...
My aunt married her late husband (rip tito) who was from Argentina. He also had Brazilian blood but he mainly grew up in Argentina then he came to the US and that's where he found my aunt and they decided to live here in the Philippines after they got married. My uncle never had formal Tagalog lessons but in just a few months to about a year, he was already able to understand at least 70% of what we are saying. And in 3 years, guess what? He was already so fluent in Tagalog! Like you wouldn't even hear any foreign twang in his pronunciation! That's how easy it was for a Latino to learn Tagalog, and that was self taught. What more if you take Filipino classes right? My uncle said, it was not that bloody hard to learn Tagalog in his point of view, but he never learned Portuguese coz he said it was really tough. As Portuguese may have similarities with Spanish but he said, the way Portuguese words are being pronounced could sometimes be mistaken for French words. He said he didn't have that patience to learn Portuguese since his mom (from Brazil) spoke Spanish fluently too. I guess if you are a Portuguese speaker, then Spanish is easy for you, but if you are a Spanish speaker, it won't be that easy to learn and understand Portuguese. Same with Filipinos, Spanish could be easier for us as the words here mostly derived from Spain. And ironically, my late uncle found Tagalog easier to learn than what his (should have been) second language which is Portuguese. 😊
I wanted to mention during the last podcast regarding the dialects. Tagalog became the main dialect used in Filipino language due to luck and geography. Asian traders would arrive in the ports of Luzon, while Indian and Malay traders would reach the country through the south most region of Mindanao. Forcing the Visayans, who were much more plentiful and who actually had a well fleshed out language, to learn these dialects in order to have smoother trade. Of course the biggest traders were the Chinese, bringing in pottery and textiles. Mindanao traders took notice and traded directly with Luzon, again unintentionally keeping Visayas out of the loop. When the Spanish came, they first arrived at Visayas, but had difficulty infiltrating Visayan culture since they seldom dealt with foreigners. But found infiltrating Luzon easier due to the number of foreign cultures already in the area. This resulted with the centers of Spanish control in Luzon. All of this led to the integration of Spanish words in the Tagalog dialect, which is now what we call "Filipino" language. IMO, the more pure Filipino language would be Bisaya or Visayan, as it managed to avoid majority of the influence. There there is of course the Chavacano, a Spanish creole that exists only on Mindanao, which is around 80% Spanish but with an entirely different syntax to traditional Spanish. To be clear to any who may react, I am from Luzon and have no bias in declaring that Bisaya is the more pure Filipino language.
We actually have a province in the Philippines that speaks broken Spanish the dialect is called "Chavacano o Chabacano" try to listen to the song Porque by Maldita
I’m actually learning Spanish right now too and my Spanish teacher just ask me to memorise despacito because I also sing lol just sharing I’m Filipino so I love learning Spanish!! ❤️ btw I love you guys so muchhhh

Please check Jessica Villarubin's rendition of I Surrender at The Clash. She's another Filipina who got this great, extraordinary voice and I'm sure you'll be floored once you hear her performance. She reminds me of Katrina Velarde.
We were under spanish rule for 300 years a long time ago and up to now some spanish words still exist in our language like silya, la mesa, siesta, esposo, esposa and most of our surnames are of spanish origin
@@jayrcardozo actually, she had a reaction video with adobo sandwich (a famous reactor back then) and they discuss how Julie Anne did that song, you can watch it, it still posted on their channel!
Yes Waleska sing a Tagalog song like IKAW or Sana Maulit Muli! That will be awesome and be an honorary Filipina!!! When pandemic ends sing in the Wish Bus!.. 107.4!!!
Philippines and its people experienced so much of different cultures those times, so it became also as one of diversed countries from cultures, language and traditions. 💕💕 Continue loving
