Thalia, indeed The Queen of Telenovela that even our Department Of Labor and Employment informed the public to control watching Thalia's telenovela during Lunch Break because employees, both women and of course MEN, intentionally extending break time just to watch Thalia TV Series. She's so charismatic, gorgeous and kind.
Thalia's Marimar was such a GIGANTIC hit in the Philippines that it was adapted to a Filipino version. Regine Velasquez sang the theme song for it with the same title. Maybe you'd like to check that out!
The song “NANDITO AKO” was originally recorded by Ogie Alcasid (Regine’s husband). LEA SALONGA recorded her own version too, then Thalia sang it for her PH Album. She did not only sang this tagalog song. She recorded an album with many of her songs translated into Tagalog! She even recorded Maria La Del Barrio translated into Tagalog!!! 😍😍😍 She even stated that she was motivated to learn English when she went to Philippines and could not communicate well.
I remember this in 1997 when I was a sophomore college student. I was going to school and I was surprised of thousands of people flocked in the Araneta area and I didnt know who was having a parade. When I found out that it was Thalia who was having a parade I stayed for a little time to at least see her in the float.But this is not her first time in the Philipines. When I was A freshman college student in 1996 when she had her first concert in Araneta coliseum. I remember I would rush and hurry to make it home early so I could catch her teleserye MARIMAR. Filiinos, male or female, young ones and adults were really hooked into Marimar. This was the golden years of Mexican telenovelas in the Philippines. All of Thalias telenovelas were shown in the Philippines. In fact one of the Comedians in the Philippines named all of her daughters after the famous character of Thalia in all of her telenovelas.After Thalia the next mexican who came to the Philippines was Fernando Carillo, Thalia’s partner in Rosalinda. And in 2014 the next spanish personality that visited the Philipines was David Archuleta an American Idol 2nd placer. David also recorded Nandito Ako as part of his album. He even had a teleserye of the same title where he was the lead role and his teleserye aired for months. David did the show before he went on a 2- year missionary work for Mormons. Tagalog isn’t really difficult to learn for Spanish people as Filipinos would not have a hard time learning spanish language as well.
I remember this live concert of Thalia in Araneta. This was after Marimar...in this concert, she is promoting Maria La del Bario. In this concert, she also sang her first Filipino original song named Chika Lang.

She was given the 🔑 to the city by the mayor of Manila. I remember seeing a motorcade as large and as grand as Paquiao has when winning a match. They are still doing Philippine versions of her telenovelas because of their extreme popularity.

goodness, I was in 3rd grade when this happened. I was such a fan but my mother won't give me money to buy her little picture cards so what I did was I borrowed my classmate's Thalia picture card and photocopied it. fond fond memories! Thalia is such a queen!

I was in highschool when she became So popular in the Philippines. Marimar wad our first exposure to her. It was on Channel 9. The Philippines was shook to the core. People went crazy and that paved the way for other Latino Telenovela to be shown in the Philippines. Thalia originated and started it all here in the Philippines.

I am really s Thalia fan since marimar time and that's really a big big bang telenovela here in the Philippines. Now I'm 53 and my two child 33 and 23 y.o also like Thalia because of my influence 🤣😂. And they all watch the Thalia telenola over and over From marimar, maria Mercedes, Rosalinda, maria la del barrio and even quiceniera haha so old telenola. Wooh! Brings back memories. I was 8-9 years old when i first saw her Telenovelas (Marimar, Maria Del Barrio etc.) here in the Philippines and everyone here were soooooooo crazy about her. Every afternoon, everyone goes home and watch her. As a young boy who grew up with cartoons shows, Thalia has a part of my childhood, not gonna lie. ❤️😍❤️
