But Vina didn't focus on singing and performing because she love acting! Unlike sarah who loves performing opm than acting. That is why sarah is unbeatable on that spot. Love them both.
You are right, the theatre & arts are truly interwine with the Laurel family but Lea Salonga is gifted & born with it. She sings with her heart & spirit that she left her audience awed & enthralled with her every performance. I was fortunate to watch her broadway stage performance Allegiance here in the NY & boy!! how proud I was to be a Filipina. The audience was really impressed by her vocals & acting performance. Geneva Cruz is the original singer of this song. And the song from Geneva was used in the movie "Soltera". And this version of Vina and Denise was used in their Teleserye "Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita". 😊 By the way, Geneva Cruz won THE VOICE OF ASIA 1992 title in Kazakhstan I think or in Russia? Then Vina Morales won IKON in 2007. FYI, Denise is already in her 30s and Vina is almost in her 50s, she is gonna be 50 in 5 yrs, as well as Geneva Cruz.

Regine, Jaya, Zsa-Zsa Padilla, Vina Morales, Dulce, Gary and Martin have the distinguishable vocals in the Philippines. By that I mean that when their songs are played on the radio, whether an old song or a new track that's just come out, you would know that it is that person singing it. I know it's familiarization as well, but unlike new artists nowadays, one vocal's uniqueness is quite unrecognisable. But the ones I mentioned, each is uniquely recognisable!

One of my faves is Vernie Varga who is a very attractive, sexy, chanteuse singer with her tantalizing ballads and love songs. She has retired from the music scene but was quite popular still in the early 2000s.
