Is it possible to do this with a single boiler espresso machine? I've been trying, but it seems that by the time I'm done frothing my milk, the buubles in the crema are too big to get a nice and even surface. Also, is it possible to do latte art with normal, straight cups, since I don't have any cappucino/flat white cups at home?
@brewbudsclub
@brewbudsclub 4 года назад
Heya! It's definitely still possible, just not as easy. Give your espresso shot a good tap on the table and a swirl before you start pouring to try and break up the bubbles :) Again with the cups.. it's easier with the bowl shaped cups, but you can still pour with a mug style cup or glass or whatever you have.

Maybe you're introducing too much air into the milk?

Do you know why people move their jug in circular motions when setting the crema, and should it be poured as such or in the static pour shown? Your videos are helping so much, I’m just curious
@brewbudsclub
@brewbudsclub 3 года назад
When people are swinging around the cup to set the crema, it is mainly to break up the crema a little bit and also cover up any 'white' that may have fallen on top of the crema when you first started pouring. It's an individual choice thing. I do both depending on what the crema looks like when I'm setting it. Hope that helps!

It would be very helpful to have 2 simultaneous screen views, 1 from the top, and the other on the side to show the height and cup angle at the same time.
@brewbudsclub
@brewbudsclub Год назад
I think I did a video with this somewhere along the line, but I'll try and create some multi angle content for you again in the future =) Basically what you need to know is that for most pours you keep your cup on an angle and only straighten it as it would spill if you didn't. For the jug height, you're pouring from about 5cm height to set the crema, and then your spout is basically touching the crema when you're actually pouring any kind of art. (within 0.5cm)

Cool! Is it possible to do this with a nespresso machine and its milk frother? I keep failing to get the white blob.
@brewbudsclub
@brewbudsclub 4 года назад
The tricky thing about using nespresso is that often the crema is really frothy/bubbly so it's hard to pour into. Also the milk frother tends to overheat the milk so the frothy milk separates - if you stop it a little bit earlier and pour it into a good jug, give it a good swirl, you might have a bit more success :)
@MariamGluey
@MariamGluey 4 года назад
@@brewbudsclub wow, thankss!! It finally worked, but I had to switch to full cream milk and to stir the coffee shot several times to decrease the crema froth

Awesome to hear - I've seen some home baristas go from being able to do nothing to doing some fairly good stuff in just a month, so with your ability to practice a lot more each day I think you'll do really well! Keep us in the loop with how it goes :)
