It was a good concept and had cool features and some initially dynamic gameplay, and I certainly had a blast with it as a kid, but it got old super quick, and didn't have a lot of substance. Enemies health bars were far too big for how unengaging the shooting was (all auto-aim) and the melee stuff was just trading off your health bar to kill them quicker. Healing was a huge pain, and ammo was always too scarce, and some guns were just objectively bad, but you were forced to use them if you didn't conserve your good guns. Plus the fancy dodging and jumping and stuff really lost its usefulness due to the big health bars. No bullet or barrage ever made a difference, so diving around didn't really do much except look cool and MAYBE save you a millimeter of hp. Unless you did it a million times per fight, which might add up, but then you got so sick of seeing it, and dizzy, and distracted. I spent the most of the last half of the game exploiting geometry to deal maximum damage safely, and not because I didn't want to play it the fun way, but because no other way was fun for very long. It was cool levelling up and becoming Superman though. And the early levels, with weaker enemies were fun too. And making new builds and stuff. A solid 7/10 budget title (that cost millions upon millions to produce).

@@asspills Part of the reason it cost millions was setting up the technology for the next 2 games, it was supposed to be a trilogy. Terrible development strategy but it does explain why it cost so much.
