I've now seen her live 4 times live. I think this performance was her strongest performance by far (including day 2). I felt lucky to make the last minute decision to grab a ticket and be part of something special -- thanks for sharing this!
Nocturne is such a beautiful piano composition. I remember when I first heard it I could hear sounds of Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy. It's so refreshing to see a modern day musician taking inspiration from classical composers.
I agree it’s so awesome. I wish we could have a modern day Lisztomania where a virtuosic composer gets insanely popular but I think the genre is sadly too niche. Musicians like Laufey and Jon Batiste do a great job of bringing their classical influences to the masses though.
Not expected to see and hear Norah onstage with Laufey! Growing up Norah’s music was big part of my high school days, now I’m approaching 30 and to see this collaboration I feel so nostalgic and refreshing ❤ hope we got to see this kind of collaboration more in the future🥺
i went to see her the day after you!! she was such a sweetheart and of course an amazing singer. she brought jon batiste and sang misty while he played on the piano. it’s the first time i’ve ever been to a concert and it definitely won’t be the last i go to hers
She’s incredible. I went to night 2 too! Lost my mind when Jon Batiste came out. You can relive it here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vw6G4KI1mAo.htmlsi=u3mnKKyR-FoSRoct
For night 1 (this show) I was in Section ORCH2, Row ZZ, Seats 213-214 right next to the aisle in the pit stage right For night 2 I was in Section 1STMZ6, ROW A, Seats 602-603 first row of the 1st mezzanine stage left. I think this was the better seat, you can view the vantage point here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vw6G4KI1mAo.htmlsi=fzFXfjYm-WFAG_i_
As much as I enjoy being able to watch recordings, there are legitimately more people filming than just watching and listening here. That's just sad. Maybe I'm old but god damn just enjoy the music in the moment. Most of those people aren't even going to do anything with those recordings anyways.
