Icelandic prodigy invites you into her mesmerising world for this edition of Sounds Like Art, where music meets the visual arts. A colourful outing to the Barberini Musuem in Potsdam, home to many masterpieces from Impressionist greats like Monet, Munch and Signac.
Laufey won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards for her second album "Bewitched".

its a legal reason... as a german public channel they only have 1 yr contracts and it has to be removed (and maybe reuploaded after) you can always listen to it on the arte website (arte mediathek) though.

Nearly 40 year old battle hardened Scotsman here and I cannot listen to this woman without goosebumps and tears in my eyes - she speaks to my heart and old soul. Reminds me of listening to old school music with my late Grandma. Never in the history of Grammys has one been so richly deserved. I want her to write a musical with Sara Bareilles and turn us all into weeping human goosebumps. What a talent ❤🥹😭

To be honest, when I first heard about Laufey, I listened her MV on youtube, thought it was pretty boring. Few months after, this video appeared on my youtube home page, I clicked and completed hooked by her voice and the beauty of art. So perfect! I wish I could be one of the audience.

This is such a well done video. Laufey's narration, scene transitions, background music, and of course the audio recording. Laufey's team must have provided Beautiful Stranger instrumentals for the ending narration. My favorite part are the piano arpeggios.
