I love this. When you are in a band that is world famous and you are asked to go around the world promoting your latest single....these things are going to happen. I LOVE how Nick is trying his best to not say anything bad about Andy Taylor, all the while looking at John Taylor and that look them between them lets us know "Andy is already a problem."
Thank you for at least mentioning the Video Shack crazyness. It was insane both outside, & inside all day! Simon's mum was also amazed at all the commotion. My stepfather snuck them all out through a secret exit from his store. Glad it didn't scare them from coming back to NY. Lol One of my favorite days that bonded us forever! Thank you for these amazing video moments! Well done!
A great story! Thanks for sharing your memories of that event and your stepfather. It was amazing to find a couple of clips from inside the store, as I'd only seen the outside shots before. Fun times!
This is a brilliant collection of clips. What I want to know is, where on EARTH did you find such a clear, crisp audio track of My Family (instrumental) as I have never heard it sound that good in any bootleg I've ever come across!
I cleaned up the audio I used in the two Laughing With Duran movies. The track is 4:40 in length, and I guess it came from a long defunct collection called The Restored Liberty Demos?
Cute video. Did anyone notice the makeup lady skipped Nick when she was powdering the other guys? She took one glance at him and thought, "he's already perfect"! Ha ha. Gotta love a guy who knows how to powder his own face before an interview. He was prepared!
John Taylor has and will always be hot, but Nick Rhodes has my eye as he is so smart, so witty in interviews. I love music as much as he does, I just cannot plan an instrument anymore! And Simon makes me laugh, so so hard! I love to listen to them talk!
I think Simon"s'great sense of houmour had rubbed off well on the rest of the group he's harlarious at times.Just wish Simon would write his autobiography.....
This is great. The fact that they are acting the fool and laughing at themselves with such a sense of humor speaks volumes to me that they aren't stuck up at all , as some critics have said. But they did have a rough exhausting time getting hounded by press etc.
These guys are very funny. I especially liked the clip where Simon and Nick are in the dressing room and walk out wearing a dress. I was literally cracking up. I really enjoyed it!
To the people who posted this, you are too cool!! Duran Duran are my favorite Band! Imo, Nick Rhodes is about the only man that can wear a BUNCH of makeup and still look cool. If I did that (only if I were in a Professional Band), it would be a no go.
His makeup has always looked flawless and pretty darn near natural looking. Even though you know he is wearing makeup, his lip colors and blush tones are very complementary to his skin tone and hair colors. He is one of the few musician guys who is a genuine artist package - a very stylish dresser, creative musician and performer, articulate and intelligent, plus a nice guy!
@@witchflowers6942 I have. He is cool too! I wish my appearance was a cross between Morton Harkett of A-Ha and David Sylvian. Ladies would be turning their heads, lol.
I'm SO jealous of that makeup artist who got so close to them all :) Thanks so much for making this compilation, much appreciated, especially in the current gloomy times - stay strong, DD fans! :)
Thanks for the good laughs. This movie should probably get regular updates, because the boys still generously provide plenty of funny moments whenever they get a chance to. ❤️
Hi Chiara. I have been working on another collection of funny moments. It is two hours long, so much longer than this one. I want to do a good job with the next one, but I'm having trouble translating the Italian language sections with English subtitles.
@@chiaraalini - That would be great. :) Please click my About page and send me an email, and I'll send you a link to my video and the latest english subtitles file. Hope you can help. @:)
Thats lifeschool22@gmail.com. Dont worry, you dont have to edit the subs, just write me a note with the words. There are only maybe 4 clips which need English translation. Once I have those, I can translate the whole movie to any language.
Watched the whole thing, thank you! I forgot how funny Simon gets on these interviews sometime. They were my first concert way back on the 7 and the Ragged Tiger tour.
Okay, is it just me or does John Taylor look like he should've been the hot bassist from The Clash decades ago? LOL! Gotta love John. I still don't know which to choose as my favorite.
I like the clips where John, Simon, and Nick do the promos and Simon keeps interrupting them and make them start laughing and also where John says we'll tell you what's happening on the british charts, which is not much! Lol! And of course John trying to speak Spanish!
Interesting that everything in the video I have in complete form on VHS recorded on the day of the original broadcast except the 1st interview which is included which was never broadcast originally on television and is only avaliable via the copyright holders until people started uploading it elsewhere
They all looked of course when the make up girl was at an angle where everyone but Roger could see her butt. And of course they all looked, who could blame them?
I really, really wish that Andy would have worked things out like Roger and stayed with the band. It’s nice to see all 5 of them together. Especially now that everyone is older and their lives aren’t as crazy as it was in the 80’s and 90’s.
Thank you for this! Love them as they are so down to earth humble and can laugh at themselves. They all have a great sense of humor. John has a dry wit, and Simon, his happiness, and playfulness is infectious!
If I could, I would have Nick Rhodes take pictures of me for my future author bio. After all, he knows how to make people look photogenic and loves make-up as well as doing photography. LOL! ;)
