Have you tried out this Lauki dal recipe ? Soak 2 cups dal in water for 20 minutes Drain, transfer to a cooker Add 2 chopped onions, 4 green chillies, 4 cloves garlic, 1/4 tsp each of turmeric pdr and red chilli powder and 1/2 kg washed, peeled, chopped bottlegourd. Add 6 cups of water Close the cooker and allow 3 whistles Now heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan Add 1 tsp each of mustard and cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp of fenugreek seeds, 1 red chilli, 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic, 1/ tbsp ginger chopped, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and red chilli pdr, curry leaves Add 2 tomatoes chopped Mix well and cook while stirring In the meanwhile open the cooker after the pressure is gone Add salt and 1.5 tsp jaggery Add coriander leaves Add the cooked Tomato plus tempering mixture to the dsl Add lemon juice as per taste Enjoy yummy Lauki dal with rotis or rice
