It’s true as Klein and Thompson note that imagining a better future is fundamental to actually building that future. It’s a noble effort with good intentions. However I fear the moment for drastic ACTION is upon us and quickly fading; especially when the two party system in the US disdainfully ignores the looming ecological crisis and the material conditions of all people while doubling down on neoliberalism. We’re left desperately pining for a shared tangible conception of a better future yet alone a better future in itself. There is a disconnect between these bourgeois PMC projects that resemble more a priesthood administering to itself than a radical outreach to working class majority people.

Our current, world-wide, pandemic challenge proves the opportunity to better the course humanity is on. What is possible? Universal Basic Provisions, readily and sustainably provided equally and planet-wide. Benefits: As we respectfully balance resources and support each other (all) & our individual and collective abilities to pre-identify challenges and create solutions, without compromising each other, our fellow planetary species, and our planet overall, solutions become literally unlimited. All of the following suggestions, as well as what you may be stimulated to conceive, translate into jobs/work/responsibilities that individuals and families can find satisfaction and desire-to-participate-in, for the greater good and their own personal benefit. Ask yourself: “What is the realistic potential if we all have the equal choice(s) of responsibly producing accomplishments that we feel right/good about”? Example: Start with what a basic community or neighborhood can do within itself. It's possible to create 'jobs' & opportunities for accomplishment in exchange for 'goods.' 1) Sustainable foodstuffs, general nourishment, generated locally. How? Community vegetable, fruit farming, gardening year-round. Outdoors, as weather-appropriate supported by indoor facilities. This creates an opportunity for physical, as well as, mental accomplishment. I've learned nothing new from these celebrates just more platitudes and rehashing old news! Lets face it Trump is as American as Apple Pie, and this society is totally insane.

Maybe we need a new American constitution. It's the foundational document of the republic. It had any serious updates in quite some time. We need a clearer, more comprehensive document that reflects our current society and the ideals we wish to aspire to. We have to re-imagine how we want our governance structures to operate.
