They didn’t hesitate to jump on whatever gimmicky portable music player happened to be in vogue during the 70s and 80s so it stands to reason they would have blown a load if smartphones were a thing back then.
The whole "no mobile phones" argument is tired and boring and used by morons to help them justify their own sense of smug superiority. If mobile phones as they are now were available in 1984 you'd be at the show watching through the lens of your Samsung Galaxy too.

@@chrissantos1877 Agree - also, Laura has a great voice but this is still playback, the audio is identical to the single and she is lip-synching, which was the normal thing on this kind of pop chart shows across Europe at the time (same with Top of the Pops in the UK)
Laura and her Production team took a really good song and turned it into one of the best ever pop recordings ever recorded IMO. The level of detail and musicianship in Laura's version of the song is unachievable in 2024 IMO.
