Laura is a rural town in the Mid North of South Australia approximately 2 ½ hours drive from Adelaide. We head to the Laura Caravan Park for this two night get away to explore the area including the newly opened Bluff Lookout which gives stunning views of Spence Gulf and the towns of Port Pire, Whyalla and Port Germein.
On our way to the Bluff Lookout we view the Wirrabara Art Silo and enjoy a great lunch at the famous Stone Hut Bakery while enjoying the company of their aviary birds.

A funny story about the Wirrabara Bluff Lookout, the local farmers in that area fought the council for years. They didn't want people potentially wandering through their land. But they finally said OK to it in 2021 and now we have a nice lookout.
@justcruisinwithmicksally837
It is a great lookout, with the perfect weather conditions the gulf blue water should be spectacular to look at.

Thanks for the video. I'll share it with my family. It looks like a good destination for a family camp. I enjoy your road train videos, I spent a bit of time on the Stuart Hwy last year, mostly in my old white Maverick towing a white car trailer with a large, solid cargo section at the front, and loaded with house and shed gear on the trips heading south. I have a lot of respect for the professionalism of road train drivers like yourself.

Great video. I love the drone footage, it brings a different perspective. Do you have to ask permission to fly it at the caravan park? I’ve noticed on our travels that there seems to be more and more signs saying “no drones” and some people are quite vocal in their opposition to there use.
@justcruisinwithmicksally837
@justcruisinwithmicksally837 2 года назад
No permission is required that I have ever heard of although you have to be aware of all the drone rules that apply no matter where you are. There are also local and government restrictions that you must abide by as well. If drones where used correctly then less people would be offended by their use.

Most of what you are viewing was done with my original drone which was a DJI Spark. I have recently upgraded to a DJI Air S2 drone. @justcruisinwithmicksally837
@justcruisinwithmicksally837 2 года назад
The town names normally come from some history event or the name of a prominent person involved with the town. Male or female, depends who shines out the most in each location when the town was first established is normally the reason. Great question Carl, one could possibly argue many different reasons.
