Trap doesn't need a 'heavy' drop. Every tune has its own unique rhythm, which differentiates it from dubstep (as well as many other factors), top work Djemba Djemba!
I agree completely! I was referring to the modern dubstep, or brostep- as most dubstep producers generally stopped around 2008-2009, though I know a few continued. Nowadays, the dub aspect is completely unrecognised unfortunately :(
I remember when Caspa was one the of the biggest artists out there! Not many of his songs dropped like today's dubstep. Benga still produces thank God! But Skream has seen what the genre has turned into and has quit producing Dubstep altogether :( But music evolves fast, and I think that Dubstep might die out, and it could be replaced by trap.
Except they do, if people stopped listening to Dubstep, and started listening to Trap, doesn't that sort of replace it, think about it? Same with Jungle, that got replaced by Drum & Bass. Obviously there's still an audience there (including myself) but it's never how it used to be
