In the midst of such an age of darkness you turn and look at them and then you remember what lightheartedness and delight and full-bodied laughter were and still are. They are immortal. - And, kudos to Mr. Stan Laurel for the inimitable writing, directing and staging this great comedic art. If you watch this slowly, again and again without sound, you see his antic touches, like when they are in the kitchen grabbing their clothes and put the wrong hats on and take a moment to switch them and put them back onto their heads before they dash out the window. Genius in small moments, and simple things.
