Ditching social media has been one the biggest positive impacts on my day to day life. Glad to hear others are experiencing the same uplifting experience

I’m doing a 3 day soical media fast to hear the lords voice more clearly and to get rid of doubts and to get closer to him.

YES, YES, YES!! A 1000 YESES!! I took Lauren's advice and did a social media fast as well, also fasted from the news. It was the most peaceful and centered I've felt in a long time! I found I don't miss it at all and barely get on anymore. I'm more engaged and present with those around me. Totally recommend it!!

I have been free from social media for 3 years now. Deleting my profile was the best decision I’ve ever made! My husband is a truck driver and works 14hr shifts. I would scroll to take my mind off of him. This would consume pretty much my entire day. I was one of those people that posted about everything. What I should of been doing, is spending all my extra time with our four kids. I found myself going down a dark hole, comparing my life to others. I would get very emotional about seeing other families spending time together on weekends. I would start arguments with my husband asking him how can you leave us. I began to hate my life. We decided to move because I needed a change and that’s when we left social media. I laugh more now than I have ever before. I do more activities with my kids now. We have a better routine. I don’t worry about what other people are doing, instead I focus on what my family needs spiritually, emotionally and physically. I’m learning God’s ways. How God wants me to live my life and raise our children. Your voice has been an inspiration to me. I’m currently involved in the praise team. I’ve been told that I need to sing your songs because I sound the most like you. Hahah in my dreams. Your voice is breath taking and I hope one day I can be half the singer you are.

I agree Social Media probably takes up most time throughout our days. Me I try not to be on social media. It's a Trigger for me on what is happening in the media right now makes me mad so I try to avoid it. I'd rather be spending time with people and building up relationships. And making new relationships.

I just ended a 10 week social media fast. Literally today. I've had the app downloaded on my phone about 3 hours, but I'm about to roll on out again. 🙏✌🕊🌻🌄🙌🏼

Your simply an amazing singer. God has giving you the gift of vocals. That's how you are reaching out to your fan base. Reaching out to the millions of people that love your desire, your friendship and devotion to God. The way you put it into words reaches more than social media will ever do for you. I'm off social media too for the most part except a little RU-vid to listen to your beautiful praise and worship to Jesus. I ❤ having the freedom of not comparing myself to others as well. My social media purge came 5 years ago when I got really sick and I couldn't be a part of what my friends and family were doing. It left me heartbroken and depressed feeling very alone most of the time. After I got off, Jesus found me and I'm never alone now. I only started recently looking at RU-vid during quarantine last March to search out more worship songs 🎵 and I didn't even realize for the longest time that there was a comment section on the channels. I do put out a comment every now and then but its been in balance. And here I am 5 years later still dealing with a debilitating chronic illness....I'm able to handle it with accepting and adapting better. But getting off all social media is what helped because I'm really close to Jesus now that's made the biggest change in my life ✝️💟✝️

You can use social media and not let it affect you, it's all about your own mentality

One of the ways I cool off, is going OFF social media. I naturally feel there's a HUGE relief. Coming back on, I feel quite balanced.

Good for her. I know a friend who literally goes from facebook to snapchat, then instagram. She spends all her time on social media. In the music business so much is on social media now. I hope she can enjoy life without it.

i just clicked youtube and this was recommended to me. God works in ways we can explain not. I have been fasting too from social platforms and i felt like giving up today. This video is a big deal to me. my objective was to find me and allow God give me an identity because i realized i had allowed people to define me. I did a DTS with YWAM and we didn’t had our phone for 2 months of outreach and it was hard but also so goooooood!!! I can relate to what Lauren is saying.. ❤️❤️❤️

Social media will not “Rescue” you. Sometimes it will tell you “you’re not enough” or that “you will never measure up.” So “look up child” and put away this life enjoy the sweetness of THE LIFE.

Amen! I haven't updated or uploaded anything in over 17 months, I don't use Facebook and Instagram is the only social media platform I have on my phone other than RU-vid and I rarely use both! It's been enlightening to say the least and it really connects you with what matters! It was like flushing a toxin from my body. Family and friendships had a more endearing and intimate quality when you didn't have instant access to everyone's lives. You'd think it would create better relationships but in truth it leaves nothing for want and eradicates the need for an actual connection.

I don’t watch TV so if I do anything I listen to the Word on you tube etc. yes I scroll through sm. I’ve heard of others doing this. Good reminder of where we need to put our time. At the same time we can use it as a tool to share God with others.

A great self reflection, thanks for sharing. But please don’t stop sharing your music. You are a communicator, speaking and spreading God’s word, and through you I have found a path that I thought I had lost many years ago. God speaks through you Lauren, in my mind that makes you an angel. So,,, please please don’t stop. I have learned how life is better with Jesus than things on Facebook. Pregnant with multiples and cancer which God will heal when he takes us home. Jesus will make things so much better. Was on dr Phil show for this nearly 7 years of pregnancy your songs keep me strong. I believe

It's amazing how free we can feel when we disconnect from social media. All true here! I used to be on regularly and now, I really don't have the desire to. Thank you for sharing this! It's a lesson I immediately shared with my 15 year old daughter in hope that someone other than dad would resonate with her. Unfortunately the fear of missing out - FOMO- is a powerful driver of human emotion and behaviors. Lauren is so right to recognize how it can be a time sink that takes us further away from the precious and finite time we have to spend with others, in Gods word, or just with ourselves having "me time". THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this video! I teach Technology in a Christian School in Charlotte, NC. We are always trying to find relevant videos for the kids to watch about the effects of screen-time on their mental/emotional health, (videos are just much more effective than just listening to statistics). I have been able to find a few good ones, but they are always presented from a secular point of view. It would be SO helpful, if more Christian personalities would share their thoughts on this issue.....especially someone like Lauren Daigle, whom most Christian teens consider "cool"! I am around teens all the time because I work in Youth ministry as well (& I also have had 4 teenagers of my own).....and the problems with the phones is at an all time EPIDEMIC level. Please pray for this generation of young people.

I have done the same thing and it is a big relief. To stay away from toxic energy and not get caught up in the constant scrolling. I have been able to channel my thoughts and energy in other ways. Reading, writing, gratitude and investing time with God. Staying unplugged helps me plug in to other areas of my life and focus on serving others. Thank you for this post. 🙏

That is something that everybody should do, are true have found myself losing time scrolling through social media, getting out enjoying people or even helping others is a lot better use of time.

After I watched this video 7 months ago, I decided to try it. I guess the 21 day fast became a year fast. Life changing!

I do take some days off. This is a smart ideal to take 21 days off.

Giiiirrrrlll, I had to do the same thing! I had to leave social media almost two months ago because of the same reasons along with all the negativity I kept seeing. I felt it was hurting my soul. Life has been soooo much better.

I love your top! It I love your message above all. I’m happy a lot of people are aware of how social media is not a necessity. It can be a block in our daily life and can create such restrictions to our minds, bodies and souls. I’ve been social media free for about 2 years now! I only have a RU-vid account and i have truly grown even closer to god by that alone. Not to mention reading the Bible and praying.

I am literally on a 40 day social media fast right now! (Except for RU-vid, obviously, but all the videos I watch are related to spending time with God, worship, Christianity, etc.) I left cold turkey. I’m more than halfway through and I’m happier and more content. It’s gotten easier over time and I don’t feel the urge to check the usual sites anymore. I don’t think I’ve missed anything.

Comparison can breed discontentment with your identity and other areas in your life. I found that social media was the biggest distraction in my life and waster of my time, so I stopped awhile back and have been so much better since.

It's good to subscribe to that which is the Lord's. His word, his will and his ways- so refreshing. Ears that hear and eyes that see - I hope we all are blessed with that. A word in due season. One sows, one waters but God gives the growth. I think about Lauren singing at a prison- oh- - that Blessed my heart and mind so much. God's word tells us to visit those in prison- such a blessing! My son and I sat and talked about that one !!!

I deactivated all my social media accounts 2 months ago and it feels so good. My goal is to do this until the end of this year.
