Only few of us knew this guy is gonna be responsible for releasing one of the best metal albums of the 2010's era (Firepower) and 2020's era (Invincible Shield). HE IS THE BEST
@allanjenny Thanks a lot for the kiddie comment, haven't been called that in well over 40 years. Priest concerts? I've worked on tour with them and know their shows very well. I like Zakk and the BLS boys, Richie is a blast too, his influences go way back before Zakk though. Friend of mine plays with his band in UK, Richie is anything BUT a Zakk clone. As you are basing your opinion on his pentatonic scales and stance on stage, I can see why such limited knowldge would lead you astray.
@allanjenny -Names? Like calling me a child? I'm clearly older than you, (judging by your Chef Boyardee vids). I toured with Priest in 1990, manage UK bands and have been doing press for 32 years. Richie played with the Shakers in London, with Pete Freisen (A.Cooper), the late Les Binks (J.Priest), pinch harmonics were not invented by Zakk..Richie sets me up for for Priest shows, I guess he's a friend. But 30 years playing with no deal? I wouldn't be too loud and proud of your guitar work.
Priest planned a final world tour, KK decided to sit it out. It's not Priest's mistake, it's not KK's. They toured with Ripper Owens too, just to keep going. I didn't like what they did back then either but that doesn't mean I didn't support them. For you to be a die hard fan and balk because your favorite guitarists isn't there is your personal choice. That doesn't mean others don't want to see the Metal God, Hill, Scott or Tipton. Richie fits the bill as good or better than anyone else can.
@allanjenny If he played JUST LIKE KK, you'd say he was a KK rip off/clone etc. and that you were passing on Priest shows because he's not KK, that's YOUR LOSS nobody else's. Zakk plays pinch harmonics (as you say "artificial harmonics"), so does Eddie VanHalen (VanHalen),Tipton (Priest), Dimebag (Pantera), Gibbons(ZZTop) Vai and God only knows how many other guitarists over 5 decades (some of which you deem guitar gods) . With your 30 years guitar experience, you already know that though.
So you believe you are not a "knob", to each his own. KK is an incredible guitarist, however that doesn't mean Richie isn't. By saying that "artificial harmonics" make him a Zakk clone you are thus implying that Zakk originated "pinch harmonics" (which began in the 60's and have been used by countless top guitarists since) including GLENN TIPTON (but you knew that). As for arguing on the Internet, have fun with that, you know what they say about the Special Olympics and arguing on the Internet.
