YES! They (Meredith & Mark) really did a tremendous job understanding her range, and playing to her strengths! I constantly go back to Firebringer, because of how excellent that song writing is!
Lauren is amazing at all songs, even the Broadway style songs (which aren't her speciality) song absolutely amazing. I watch firebringer TGWDLM and TTO so often because of Lauren's stunning vocals in them
they really need to have her sing in her natural range more and a little less in her lower range bc she has such a heavenly soprano voice! I think it mainly due to character choices but damn she’s so talented
It's hard to write for Lauren's kind of voice. Don't get me wrong she has a lovely voice but she has the problem that a lot of lyrical Sopranos have in that there is a very clear break between her chest and head voice. Her mixed voice is there it just isn't as consistent as her chest voice belts and high lyrical head voice singing. At 0:24 and 3:59 you can hear where she flips from a strong chest voice into head voice instead of mixing, just as examples so what I'm talking about makes sense. The other thing to keep in mind is that generally in musical theater soprano parts are written in the middle of the range with final, or climatic notes, reaching the higher end of the range. This is because is is just plain hard to sing in the higher end of your range with good diction. Words are just harder to form and over exaggerated in the higher end of the soprano range because your soft palette and articulators need to make more space for higher notes to resonate in tune. Hope this could give you some insight as to why they may not write more songs in the higher end of Lauren's range.
Alicat Girl My friend is a very low voiced baritone, and we are practicing for the musical we are doing. He sings two lines and then I sing the next two lines two octaves higher because I’m a higher mezzo. I love the contrast
her vocals during firebringer were SO GOOD and made incredible use of her mix. meredith and mark did an incredible job writing songs that suited her perfectly.
Usually I get a little jealous watching people sing because I love singing but lack any ability to do so. When I watch Lauren I don’t get that at all. Her voice is beautiful! It’s so light and clear, angelic even. Also, let’s not forget, she’s crazy hot
lauren sensually singing “she is the hottest girl I’ve ever seen” like is that what she thinks when she looks at herself in the mirror? bc holy hot damn
A Person Oh dang, now I want her to cover ‘No One Else’! I saw someone comment in another video that Mary Kate Wiles would make a great Sonya (which I agree with) so let’s just go ahead and cast the imaginary revival with Starkid & friends, lol
There are few words that can summarize my love for Lauren Lopez, and they are as follows. "Pigfarts, pigfarts, here i come. Pigfarts, pigfarts, yum, yum, yum." Thank you for coming to my TED talk
