2/2 Lauren Mayberry of Glaswegian band Chvrches has embarked on her first solo tour and has a solo album in the pipeline. On Friday 6th October 2023 the tour reached Birmingham's 02 Academy 2 venue. The highlights here include an impressive cover of Madonna's "Like A Prayer" and Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" as well as her own new original material. (Yes it's true, the much-missed Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac grew up in neighbouring Smethwick and attended Moseley School of Art).

I honestly can't wait for the album to come out properly, the new songs are all unique and different which is great (Change Shapes, Shame and Are You Awake? are certainly good). Hope I do eventually get a chance to see her eventually, shame I didn't rediscover CHVRCHES last year (or the year before) since I might have gone to this.

I sincerely envy those who can witness this action with their own eyes. Lauren is very cool. I like a lot of what she does. And most importantly, I really like the timbre of her voice.

Was lucky to do so. Apart from the performance (which was excellent) it was by far the most impressive concert sound I have ever heard!

Really, really good. I miss my old red Tele though. Hey yo! on the Tele! You should see if Lauren could cover an AC/DC tune!! You all would make it unique and familiar and rock it all at once!!
