The best rendition of "O Death" on the Internet. Haunting in both vocals and instrumentals. This is what talent is all about, even the taking of the macabre and making it touch the soul.
Just told my father to watch this... He came back to me after and said "Yeah... Not too bad...". He had stars in his eyes and his face was priceless. My whole family is fond of you ! xD
I have watched this no less than 15 times and I force all my friends on Facebook to watch it as well just so they can see what REAL talent and artistry is.
I've always loved this song. I was lucky enough to have Rising Appalachia play it on request from my birthday. As much as I love them, I like your version more.
something about watching you create music is so sensual..i dont mean that in a creepy way i mean just the way you create your songs and piece it all together and your voice is just damn lovely..not everyone can move your soul and heart and mind with just a song....i may forget about you for awhile but i always come back to your music and am just as amazed as i was the first time i heard it
Can this please be on the Game of Thrones soundtrack, or at least in a future trailer for a new season?! This song and the style in which Lauren performs it would fit so perfectly with the storyline of Game of Thrones. Anyone else agree?
You are the most talented young woman I have ever had the privilege of opening my ears up to. I've never seen anyone play a banjo with a fiddle bow (White Noise). Impressive work, missus. Please never stop. It puts the biggest smile upon my face.
This girl is F'n awesome... this song stirs me in my soul more than even the older versions i hear in Tennessee! This girl Deserves a record deal.. shes better than Jewel and basically any other folk singer ive ever heard!
Amazing! The verse starting at 2:06 comes through SO strong. I LOVE it. My only suggestion would be to gradually ramp up the backup vocals over the last 30 seconds before cutting out with that final chilling note.
That's her charm; you always get a nice surprise when she changes direction, kinda like catching a sharp breeze on a tight tack, but she never leaves in you in irons.
Ugh, why didn't the creators of Until Dawn pick you up? Their version is horrible! I literally searched for versions of this song that does a better job than the game and everything I've found so far HAS been better, but your version blows all others out of the water.
It is happening again! A distinct, amazing voice, a deep feeling, an elaborated arrangement and a refined instrumental technique joined together in an outstanding performance. A new star is born.
Wow! Very talented, amazing being able to play all these instruments and have a lovely voice on top of that. Would pay big bucks to see her in concert.
What a beautiful version of this song. Thank you for sharing your beautiful voice and talent. A powerful rendition of this traditional song filled with so much atmosphere.
pardon my french but God Damn girl you have an old soul. your voice reached in and plucked out my heart. beautiful and eerie amazing mastery of your instruments
First came about you when I was listening to house of the rising sun which is a song that has always been important to me . I loved your cover and love your voice . I now love listening to your variety of songs which always evokes some sort of emotion and reaction within me. I will keep on listening ...thank you..✌️😊
What a refreshing antidote to the bland music prevalent today and from someone so young no less. I hope you play in Chicago someday soon. Incredible talent and originality. So glad I came across your music on youtube.
WHAT IS THIS??!!!! nothing there to say, she is perfect! congratulations Nataly, do you have a great future in music, never give up of your dreams, you have a really talent.
You are by far the most multifaceted, and amazingly talented female musician I have ever encountered on youtube. I adore you. Thanks for the wonderfully inspirational music.
It's so wonderful to see some RU-vidrs keeping traditional folk music alive. My dad is a folksinger (and when I say "folksinger," I'm talking about traditional stuff, not adult contemporary let's-pretend-it's-folk coffeehouse rock), and he's passed the love onto me. So Lauren, I've always loved your music, but when I saw "traditional" in your video title, my love and respect for you skyrocketed.
thanks to this song I've found and added a new artist to my everyday playlist of songs, just purchased Lauren o' connell's four album bundle :) and now ready to stop and listen
Well, I`m not listening american country music at all, but this is beautiful! You`re beautiful, Lauren. It sounds so great! This song hiding some beast of invisible fire, but pure but bitter but sweet fire like the heresy youth. It`s about death, but have more strength to warm our next autumns and sharp winters and some our future spring times! Keep persisting! Wish you all the best. Jeff
