She is so amazing! I don't understand how people can treat anyone so horribly, but especially those with disabilities. The disability makes their life harder than it should be, why to people have to add to that... Every person with Downs I have ever met has been so sweet and full of life!
I love you Lauren! You are beautiful! I wish you could meet my little brother Colin. He has Down Syndrome to, but just like you, he wonderful, intelligent, beautiful and precious!
This is just so inspiring.... It made me really happy for you, Lauren. I hate when my friend says that things are reatarted or that ppl with downs are dumb. Go get 'em, Lauren!
that basically broke my heart into a thousand pieces when she broke down at the end. i am fucking PROUD to have a brother with down syndrome and he doesn't take shit from ANYONE he always throws it right back in their faces when people make fun of him. (including one time when he chased a kid in middle school down the hall with a folding chair after the kid teased him!) but screw them lauren your beautiful in your way cuz god makes no mistakes your on the right track baby you were born this way!
people with disabilities have to work harder than some people. I have a disability and every day there is always something to work on and do. The things people take for granted that learning disabled people cant do is kind of irritating. Because of my disability I cannot drive. I am glad you have your eyes open and understand thank you!
She made my cry like a baby at the end )': my brother also have down syndrome and thank god he had never been bullying or anyhting, he has a lot of friends in the school, but when we are in the street or something all people starts looking and saying things about him, I hate that kind of things
That doesn't have as much to do with acceptance as it does sheltering people who don't need to be sheltered. In these videos, Becky isn't saying "Ha ha, I have downs syndrome, I can do whatever I want", she's making the point that we all deserve to be treated and spoken to with respect, and people with cognitive disabilities are no exception. I know it sounds like a "duh" thing, but people seem to need reminding every once in a while.
Lauren you break my heart. Things like that rlly hurt me to not in the same as they hurt you but because my aunt is dieing with down syndrom so it hurts when ppl say stupid stuff like i get rlly worked up about it. I will try my very hardest not to use the r-word. So i am proud to say Lauren you are my hero.
i would Love to see her win a Teen Choice or a Kids Choice Nexit Year just her for being a Breakout arist she should win something just her not just the Glee but she does need her own award For being amazing role model
your my idol!!! i love you and all that your standing up for and your beliefs cause i too believe it is right not to use the R word...but please dont hurt...cause honestly everyone admires your talents and capabilities and you truly do deserve peoples respect and admiration not only for being a great actress...but a wonderfully enriching and empowering individual. So thank you :)
She is the prettiest person ive ever seen in my life and if i ever met those people who called her those names and beat her up like she's said i would kick their asses so hard it will make their noses bleed
Your soo cool! You are incredibally talented Lauren and you are making alot of money. Haters will always hate! Keep your head up your beautiful love you!
laruen you inspire me to follow my Dreams i am a disable teenager just like her and she inspires me to follow my Dreams to be a singer and actress i hope to be on glee someday
@kztar621 But glee has given her so much more than what she would have had before?! And shes doing SO much good with her new found fame. I don't think glee wanted her just to gain attention, shes an amazing actress. Besides, just because she has special needs shouldnt mean she should miss out on any oppourtunities. She's an inspiration to me, and to so many others.
In my elementary school, there were kids who'd actually race to finish lunch to get to spend time with the "special ed" kids. (There were only so many, & only one neurotypical per kid [wheelchair-bound were in w/Down's, deaf, etc. Were a class C school, not much money.]). I always got teased because my disorder (Asperger's) wasn't obvious because it's very high-functioning, but for them to tease someone who's obv got a devel disorder? I only remember sleazes teasing deaf about speech
Lauren is a sweet, beautiful girl.. Why treat her with disrespect?? or anybody with a disablity?? like @Blissfullycat02 said the disabilty makes a person's life so much harder, why add to it?? Let them live their life without the negativity, People with disablities can do what everyone else can, and they would like to be treated the same as everyone else, dont treat people differently cause of their flaws or imperfections, remember they have feelings too..
@JoLu4ever13 well being normal and being different isn't always the same thing. She knows that she is different, but she still want people to treat her like a normal person.
She said she wanted to be thought of as normal, then 5 seconds later she said different isn't bad. If different isn't bad, then she shouldn't have a problem with being thought of as not being normal. Just saying.
OMG... people can be unbelievably mean! In my school, I thought some girls were mean but comparing to the world out there, my mates are nothing... atleast we think about othesr feelings and we will never tease the disordered!
I do see what you mean about enforced acceptance, and we all are entitled to our own opinions, and are free to speak them. However, if people are going to be a unified people, it is important that we at least make an effort to show that outward, blatant acts of ignorance or non-acceptance are the only things that will not be tolerated here, no matter what group you're a part of.
Why do you think she's being used as bait? If I was in her position I'd be pretty pissed about people teasing me for something that is out of my control, or using my condition as an insult too. It isn't just her doing this, her mom speaks with her in the R-word videos.
@pinkirishgoatz Why would you say that? It's just mean. Look at her, she's adorable and she has probably more succes than you have. Don't call her such things.
