Angelina Jordan is the finest female vocalist to ever live. There has never been another with her combination of talents. Our barefoot Princess of a thousand voices, the Queen of Jazz. She won Norway's Got Talent at age 8. This is her band hired after she won NGT. She had been working with them for almost 2 years at this point. You need to skip ahead to something she has done lately to understand where she was at this age of 10. She is incomparable. English was her third language of 4. She is 18 as of Jan. 10, 2024. Angelina is a tall 6'1". She has been signed to Republic Records since age 14, but not promoted until lately to allow her to mature to handle the stress of a modern music career. Republic built her a recording studio last year. She has always arranged her own music and contractually maintains that ability with Republic. She is currently working with famous songwriter, Toby Gad. You have no idea what you have discovered in Angelina Jordan, but you will learn in comments when you react to her music. She also writes! She is a gift to us all, enjoy!

You will want to look up 2 other performances AJ did at 10 years old. Look up the "leaked" version of "IM STILL HOLDING OUT FOR YOU" which was a demo she did but was never reliesed and also look up the 2 songs back to back at the Allen Walker Coming Home Concert, Allen asked AJ to open his show singing his songs.. she first sang "SING ME TO SLEEP" and right after "Faded" most people would never know that AJ was singing with a very sore throat and a 102 fever when she did this, Allen Walker had told her she didnt have to go on but AJ was determined to perform!!

Thank you for a great reaction to our mini jazz queen (only mini in body) this was her arrangement as well and my favourite version of this song , about 4 1/2 years ago I didn't expect a 10 year old would perform my favourite version of a song and then many more at all different ages, so glad you acknowledged her ohmage to the song , That is Angelina a true artist , art comes first , she doesn't show off , only really belts if it meets her vision for the song , feeling has been innate within her since a child, and she is an elite storyteller, she is full of details and subtleties that most miss because now seems every one is obsessed with belting as if that is the bench mark for greatness. The Norwegian nation recognized a national treasure the moment Angelina did "Gloomy Sunday" on NGT. Since then, Angelina has never had any problems getting the best musicians in Norway - or the best orchestras, for that matter, to play when she sings.

Lauren, thanks for your reaction and analysis. Angelina is a self taught jazz singer but seemingly can sing any genre. She is also a awesome songwriter and arranger. Angelina created her own arrangement for each cover she has sung. She has told us she has written more than 100 songs and we have been blessed by 13 so far. Here is the list of her originals, along with a few songs she was the first to sing but didn't write. "What is Life" first sung at age 11. We don't know how old she was when she wrote each song. Age presented is her age when she first sang it. "Oslo" age 11 "Shield" age 12 "Million Miles" age 14 we know she wrote this one in the days after her maternal grandfather passed in 2019 when she was 13 "7th Heaven" age 15 "Love Don't Let Me Go" age 17 "Now I'm the Fool" age 17 "Fire and Rain" age 17 "It's All My Fault" age 17 "Good in Goodbyes" age 17 "Diamond" age 17 "Our Time" age 17 "Princess of Ruins" age 18 ..... only performed at her 2 shows in Las Vegas 2/29/24 Should include songs for which she was the first to sing "I'm Still Holding Out for You" age 10 .... considered one of her best vocal performances by many "Song for A" age 12 "Above the Water" a EDM song released January 31, 2020 "We're the Best" sung with RedOne at the FIFA Awards February 27, 2023 Angelina wrote new lyrics for two famous songs by Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black" and "Rehab" since it was inappropriate for a preteen to sing the original lyrics. For "Back to Black" Angelina wrote the new lyrics in the 24 hours prior to the recording, then needed just two takes.

Excellent song and performance analysis! Nice to listen to someone who knows about these subjects yet is not so full of themselves. You talked a bit about how she inflects words. With English as her second language and having an understanding of at least 3 others, the one word that stands out to me in every song she sings is “world”. Most people seem to pronounce it as werald/werld. Angelina seems to combine the word would and it comes out as “wuld”. I like it in any case. Thanks and I subscribed for more Angelina!

The first time I spotted her was in the series LILLYHAMMER. A tiny child in white you could see singing in the jazz club, glimpsed ghrough the moving people but her voice weaves amongst the sad hoodbye scene ....... and I was hooked and started finding everything I could for 9 years.

Please please please watch her official short documentary ANGELINA JORDAN 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING. .. not only has it got her February Vegas footage it has the clip of her singing with a mike as an 18 month old baby. Listening to her speak will contextualise the stories you are told.plus all the songs you dont recognise are most likely snippets of her origionals. Since the documentary shows the past and present watching it will not spoil your journey of discovery. Though it was short notice due to a venue cancellation her fans flew in from around the world and both the matinee and evening show sold out. I am so jealous as tickets are only going to get more expensive and harder to get as time goes by

Voice of a generation. I love everything she does, but my personal preference is her live performances. She is actually better live than she is in the studio. You have to see her perform "What a Difference a Day Makes" There are three to choose from at ages, 8, 9 and 10. My personal favourite is age 9 on Singapore TV, but they are all fantastic.

Great reaction You picked up on something very important about Angelina in how she will change things up from one phrase to another. Another reactor pointed out how in her performance of Bang Bang at 8 years old on Norway’s Got Talent, each “bang bang” is slightly different. This is what separates Angelina from other young singers you see on the talent shows. They usually try to sing as loud and as high as they can to impress. They are good singers but don’t have the details, techniques and storytelling that Angelina has already had at a very young age.

Before you leave her younger performances behind, I think you should take a look at her when she was 8 yo performing “What a Difference a Day Makes”. She is outside in a white dress with a red rose hairpiece on her head. This is still my favorite performance of hers. I’ve heard it at least a hundred times. Then you can move up to “Bohemian Rhapsody” at 13 yo. There are so many. I really enjoy your reactions and it’s always so much fun to see new “Angels” find her and be touched by her magical performances. She has changed me in a really nice way.

Several songs at 10 are hallmarks in her early career. Be sure to watch Everytime We Say Goodbye where she stands right next to Ella Fitzgerald. Also I'm Still Holding Out for You a song by Baby Fuzz that he got her to sing first. There's difficult lyrics so the family requests not to release officially but it's a smashing song. One of the absolute best.

Very enjoyable reaction. Thank you. Too many people feel the need to progress thru the age thing. I'm suggesting you go directly to her 2023" Old Enough" EP and sample that. Then you can decide what type music from her you enjoy hearing. Her concerts (live) tend be many songs she did in her youth plus some newer covers. You might even check out her TT channel her she does a sampling of everything. You can always go back in time if there are specific requests or to satisfy curiosity. But this is like finding a satellite channel you enjoy and investing some time with that. Have fun.

Hello, I recommend that you go back to Norway's Got Talent. There is a RU-vid video of all 4 of her performances in the program at the age of 7-8 from the first audition to winning the competition and all of this is worth every moment to understand where she comes from and what music she listens to and likes. Nina Simone's rendition is considered by most to be 'The Gold Standard'. That said, and agreed to, this is to me 'The Platinum Standard' for the song. Her arrangement is magnificent as the orchestra follows the directions she set forth with regard to when specific instruments are to come forth.

Maybe to set the base, will be good to go back to her performances in Norway got talent 7/8 yo.

Can I suggest to you two originals that aren’t of hers? A Song For A (as the musician said it was written for Angelina) and I’m Still Holding Out For You. These two songs show her maturity, versatility and gigantic talent also at age 10, having no one to cover. Enjoy.

Angelina never released her sound track, and Baby FuzZ was unable to interest an artist in recording the song. He released his video with the song in December 2018. Angelina's video was LEAKED to RU-vid by unknown artist(s) in November 2018. I dare you to do a first listen with your eyes closed, which in over 100 hearings I have failed to do.

Check out her NGT performances, all 4 of them; you know right then she's gonna be outstanding. She 7 and 8 there and singing jazz classics, difficult ones. They're simply amazing. 😎
