This was very natural, Laurie could not ignore Amy when she was an adult, she always saw her as a child, when she discovered the new Amy he unconsciously became a new Laurie, only she could make such a change. This is a mature love.
Idk if anyone else noticed this but in the scene where Laurie proposes to Jo, she’s wearing his clothes... that reminds me of the sentence “you gave her your sweater” ...
that scene in where they fight in the prom or something, laurie says that she doesn't have to feel sorry for bc she's gonna feels this way someday and she kinda did ger whole life yk
Amy is a character with a great evolution, many of us identify with her thanks to this new film different from the previous ones, Jo from beginning to end has an annoying personality.
I know most view Jo as the true strong, mature, admirable heroine of the story but I think she's a rather immature and selfish creature who is really just stuck wanting everything to stay exactly as it was when she was most happen even if that means her loved ones don't move on with the natural progression of their lives. It's always made sense why she's the last one to embrace adulthood and why Amy & Laurie find happiness together!
