I don't know when rhis was recorded but Laurie Appeared on the tv show "dancing with the stars" one of the judges was a professional ballroom dance judge. The was always after people about pointing their toes. There is only one exception I can think of she was an amputee. She lost a leg and didn't have any toes.

smileyfan16 Laurie had a higher score than aly raisman . She had the second highest score for all around for everybody. But didn't have good enough bars to qualify at the Olympics bc they had to use gabby douglous which stood no chance for AA
Sco2b I meant against the other people on the team. Laurie aly and Simone all had much higher over all scores. The US was just stupidly strong so gabby would have been great if her team mates weren't so good
Ha, tell me again that how a person on their worst day(Gabby) still qualify in around in 3rd place and only behind two other USA gymnast? Because shes talented and that only proved why she would have been on the team. The USA brought home gold so that alone tells you the picked the best team. The hatred is real.

It looks like Laurie was completely ignoring her coach right before she started her bars routine. She actually raised her arms to start her routine while her coach was still talking.
The coach has super bad vibes. It's surprising to me how the parents didn't know about it or did the girls speak up about the abuse before? I saw a recent interview with Laurie and I believe she mentioned she brought it up to her parents but nothing was ever investigated with the coach, so sad.

And you have to remember the beam is only 4 inches wide. Which is only wide enough for one foot so you can't stand with them next to each other. P. S. When you split the beam in Hurts really bad!!
A lot of gymnasts who do go to the olympics don’t have motivation to go back. Their dream was to be there and to win medals there, and once they’ve done that, can you blame them for being hesitant to go through all that training again?
I love Simone Biles, she's the greatest gymnast of all time obviously but it is a little bit of a shame that all these other incredible gymnasts have to perform in her shadow occasionally not getting the recognition they deserve. Thanks for making a video highlighting Laurie's wonderful performance.
haha so true! I imagine other moves have a higher degree of of difficulty, but it's the "no-hands front walkover" that blows my mind...they can't see anything, the foot hits the beam before they can even see the beam! WHAT?! Boggles my mind.
I remember watching that whole US Championship and watching Laurie. She was a breath of fresh air and a beautiful Latina. I was so proud of her performance. She’s still that beautiful and h hope she makes the 2020 games at least as a specialist. She’s be a solid performer.
This beam routine is still imo so underrated. It's arguably one of the best routines ever. Her cleaniness and precision reminds me of the beam routines you saw during the 90's. You can also tell she's had really good dance training. Lauries lines are very sharp, concise and elegant. She deserved that Silver at Rio.

Anyone else annoyed that she's not competing yet? I mean, if she would've kept going after the Olympics she would've totally gone to worlds. She's so good, and she has such a brighter future in this sport. I just hate that she's taking so much time off when she hasn't been competing as a senior for very long at all.
TheNonMakeupGuru that was almost two years ago, and that's the only international competition she's been to on the senior level. She should've kept going right after the Olympics like Kyla Ross because she was a brand new senior level. She would be amazing if she continued. Now it's going to be a lot harder to come back. Not impossible, but much harder.
and? she still trained just as hard as the other girls? and from memory kyla admitted she burnt her self out and should have taken a break. All because shes not competing does not mean shes not back in the gym.
TheNonMakeupGuru not saying she's not training, or didn't work hard. I just wish she would've at least gone to the next world championships. She totally could've won the all around. She has two more years until another Olympics, and just a few months until world championships. If she wants to have a bigger career then she needs to be in the gym full time because she doesn't have a lot of time. If she doesn't want to continue then that's a shame because she's really great.

Don't like her at all, she seems annoying. Too many robotic gestures. American gymnasts are excelent when it comes to tumbles but there's a major lack of artistry in their movements. As I said before, it's like watching robots which is exciting for a while but is getting boring watching those performances all over again.
