I started concert harp 40 years ago and somewhere along the line i took up folk harp, too. I don't need anything else to work on, but i am very intrigued by double strung harp, now! 🤔 Hmm--- 🎶🥰🎵🎶
Very nice video, thank you! I am almost 54 and have never played an instrument. I love the harp and am contemplating starting despite my age and lateness to learning music.
@@organist1982 Hi! Actually, I have only recently ordered a Waring cardboard harp to start with and it was backordered and hasn't shipped yet, but will soon I'm told. Then, once it finally reaches me here in Serbia, I will begin my harp journey!
wow so amazing i have a question i start learning the harp 3 years ago and still learning got a 26 and a 36 but i am thinking to sell the big and get a double 26 do you think is too early and better to spend more years on single before switching or just because is so different doesn-t really matters? cheers
They have such different purposes, one cannot say that one is "better". Cross strung is for playing chromatic music without pedals, and double strung is for the techniques described in the video.
Hola, saludos cordiales desde Chile. Yo tengo 60 años y estoy iniciando mi aprendizaje de tocar arpa. Tengo sus libros. Por favor, tiene un libro, el más básico, que pueda indicarme para comprar. Gracias Gioconda ❤
I’m a complete newbie, never having played an instrument or read music. I’ll be getting my harp soon and was wondering how proficient a student should be before starting these exercises? Thank you for all you do for the DS community!
I had not seen your comment before now. The answer to your question is that after you have learned a good hand position and plucking technique, you an do these exercises. Happy harping!
