So whoever sent you there obviously excluded all of the nice areas of Laurinburg. If you guys would like a real tour of the entire town maybe contact city hall for a real map. The place isn’t the best but it isn’t all bad. You guys literally went through all of the bad areas and none of the nice ones.

My poor hometown. The greatest place to grow up in the 80's. I've seen what demarcate control does to a city since I move away. This town was so safe that at ten years old I could ride my bike anywhere from one end of town to the other end and be home by the time the streetlight came on. Drugs and demarcates = high crime. By the way, if you get away from Washington park elementary. It takes you out of the hood. And Petey Pablo was a scrub at Southern Correctional.

A good example of what Globalization does to some places. Up through the 80s, a high-school graduate could get a decent job there and do OK. NAFTA was the final nail. Other than maybe Church Street, there isn't a decent place left to live within the "old" city limits areas. You have to cross to the other side of 501 or go South to find decent neighborhoods. What was once a pretty vibrant uptown (i.e. Belks, McNairs, Barrons, Woods, Roses, Western Auto, Banks) was gone by the 90s.
First road they on Willow drive. I’m currently living here right now. Laurinburg just like any other city the good the bad the ugly and we definitely don’t swing our shirts around in helicopter to greet each other. 🤣🤣

I was born and raised there. Left in 1894 went back for 3 days to a funeral in 2005. It’s 2023 and I haven’t been back and I don’t miss it and I travel the world. Not one of my favorite places…….AT ALL👎🏽

The fraction of the city captured was a fraction of the city that is in the lower income side of town. NC is a beautiful state. Laurinburg NC, in particular is a small town with a lot to offer the natives that live in the area. There was a lot said that was false, disrespectful and degrading. After watching and hearing this, I now question the credibility of your channel.

Never took my shirt off..and swung it around my head...the whole 23 years I stayed there. This is off Caldonia road... should go on the other side of Main Street. During the Bush/Obama years, Scotland Country is this hardest hit.. Most of the industry left...and took all the good paying jobs.
NC is a weak state, we try to hit up more places like Louisiana and Alabama they got real hoods. think next time we do NC might just show the suburbs of Charlotte or the beaches might get more views.

But it’s like anywhere u live “it’s what u make of it”. Also every neighborhood has their own problems some might not be as bad as others but a crime is crime right

I grew up in Maxton in the 80s. I was in laurinburg a lot. My sister took piano at St. Andrews College. It definitely went from sugar to shit, but I think y'all wanted to try and venture the hoods. A word of advice... I wouldn't do that again. The decent areas outweigh the hood areas... for sure.
Next time you want to showcase a small city, maybe you shouldn't only go into the lower income areas. I see why you called it "the hood" because you didn't go to any other places.
