hey this comment is the one... i been listening to her Mtv unlplugged album for 5 days str8, i even woke up to watch her videos i miss her so much. we need her in these days and times. PEACE AND LOVE EVERYONE!
I remember watching this live. When they went to commercial after her performance we all sat in silence for a while and just said wow! Powerful message! Praise God!
Lauryn Hill is so beautiful. Her spirit is the epitome of true clarity and humility. The saddest thing is that artist like her get burned out early because the wisdom and light that they try to share with the world, get's drowned out by all the vanity, lust and evil of those who would seek to destroy us all if we refuse to submit our wills. Lauryn Hill is one of the only people in this world that i respect because she understands my point of view. She is truly my soul mate. I love you Lauryn.
There was nothing wrong with her. We live in a world full of corruption, agendas and hierarchy but all of it is a illusions. We all should follow GOD NOT THE GOVERNMENT OR TV.
So wonderfully weird to read these positive comments 20 years later😃. I remember how everybody was calling her all types of crazy when the unplugged album was released. But the current comments are definitily a proof that one should always follow their heart instead of caring about people's opinion. I was 20 and these songs helped me through a very tough time. I don't care what people say, this woman is anointed...
I’m 13 turning 14 in 4 days but I’ve discovered lauryn this past year. I played Ex Factor in the car with my mom and she asked me if I liked Ms Lauryn hill. I said yes obviously and ever since then me and my mom listen to her often
KlassicThrowbackTV You're so right but it's so frustrating! I can only imagine how artists who actually have something to say must feel these days. Their art is falling on deaf ears. Smh
Views are meaningless. People say this a lot..ad nauseam. Better to say..i wish more people could understand this..or live this. She's super popular so not underrated. Many listen..but dont comprehend..some comprehend but dont live it. Some live it..they are scarred and broken..by those that dont understand. Peace
I will admit I remember vividly when I saw this performance on TV when I was 13 years old and I was one of those people who was like “What happened to Lauryn Hill” but as I gotten older and listened to the unplugged album I understand that nothing was wrong with her. She was ahead of the curve and her time.
Lauryn is more than just a voice. Her voice reflects the passion, love, fear and pain that defines all of her music. I don't see how people can be exposed to such a beautiful spirit and not be moved. Smh. To me Lauryn is like the modern day Cleopatra. She is a queen in every since of the word. People who listen to Lauryn Hill and still live material lives are so full of shit and don't realize the value in the gifts that she offers. Her gifts are true gems for any generation. Shame no one cares..
The poetry, the melody, the presence. Ms. Lauryn Hill is one of the few artists who can effortlessly deliver an outstanding performance, leaving the auditor in awe of such beautiful artistry! Love from Belgium :)
I love her music so much. God is remarkable. And she has done so much to exemplify him through her music. I wish she was still making music, or honestly, I wish I can one day meet her
Believe in what? How do you know what Lauryn "believed", apparently her babies father (one of Bob Marleys sons) who was married to someone else before during and after they got together, left her because she got too involved with a religious group led by some guy named "Brotha Anthony". She then had some disastrous tours that ended up being cancelled because she was late often, in poor voice and passing out on stage. That's basically the end of he music story so far, hopefully she left that religious bs behind and is doing better nowadays.
Absolutely!!! I feel like in my journey with God, this album has been placed on my path for a reason. Every time I try to share this specific album with people they are just like: 🤷🏾♀️ I can't fathom this reaction. But recently Holy Spirit put on me - it's not for everyone.
Adam lives in theory Trying to turn stone into bread Masquerading like he got it figured out Cut off from the sunshine, only smart in his own head Leaving his descendants to hope and doubt Left to his devices, those worth the sacrifices Praying to the alter of himself Making pilgrimages, thinking he's religious Like he's got all the light, and no one else He takes the unsuspected 'cause he knows they're not connected And he shows them how to be just as he is Virtually real, and commercially appealed To the lust of all the people where he lives Eve was so naive, blinded by the pride and greed Wanting to be intellectual Drifting from the way she got turned down one day And now she thinks that she's bisexual Caught up in emotion Burning up in her devotion To the king of exploitaion in the field She handed him her virtue 'cause he told her "I won't hurt you" So she lay with him to see how good it feels Now can you tell me, what, what we gonna do now Where we gonna go now, what we gonna say now Now can you tell me, what, what we gonna do now Where we gonna go now, what we gonna say now Now after the sensation, and the empty fornication She brought affection home into her bed, quickly multiplying Now the 3 of them are dying by the poison she perceived to be good head Now Eve and her husband are perverted in their judgment 'cause everything appears to be the same They entertain suggestion, Next time just use protection Desiring to cover up their shame But much to their demise, poor decision closed their eyes To the very antidote to their dilemma Burning in their lust, Both of them were dealt to us Destroying the original agenda Praying to the sky, in order to maintain a lie They exhausted every possible conclusion, They can't even entertain the solution, In a brain filled with vain information and pollution Hiding from the truth, He provided an excuse to explain away his desperate situation When confronted, blamed his wife Giving birth to carnal life Refusing to acknowledge what he done Now if we can agree with who created us to be Who says we're guilty everyone before his eyes Making no exceptions, since the day of our conception Predisposed to hating truth, and loving lies Then can you tell me, what, what we gonna do now Where we gonna go now, what we gonna say now Then can you tell me, what, what we gonna do now Where we gonna go now, what we gonna say now Stop walking in pride, let the thief be crucified Un-learn everything you know, and let him teach you Line upon line, every step upon pre-step, say goodbye, To this decaying social system He wants to know, how far we're willing to go If we love him like we say we do, He will try us Just don't regress, Or slip into hopelessness Once he's satisfied his love, He won't deny us, And then he'll tell us, What, what we gonna do now Where we gonna go now, what we gonna say now And then he'll tell us, What, what we gonna do now Where we gonna go now, what we gonna say now Traduzir para o português
This is one woman when I listen to her lyrics especially with unplugged I question my thoughts....and eventually I tell myself I have to stop my soul being captive - mental slavery!!!
Apparently lauryn wanted to do an album similar to back to black being that salaam worked with her during the fugees! I remember seeing it on the commercials when the album dropped
There will another Lauryn Hill. She has by far been my favorite artist since sister act 2. Her vocals are lyrics are so unique. Glad I was around in her prime.
I found that line “if we say we love him, then he’s gonna try us to see how far we can go” very disturbing and nothing but a temptation. Cause wtf? Why will you test me, is that some trust issues from whom is supposed to be the Great I Am?
I have come to realize that most of the people on this planet are not ready to accept the truth of wat is they are comfortable all the lies that had been fed to us such a shame
