Perfectly restful to watch on a Winter Sunday afternoon. Always enjoy seeing your lovely companion - the one with 4 feet and aware ears 😊 Might I suggest not adding the infused oil to your hard oils/butters before melting. Not only will it better favour your infused ingredients (especially if you only allow the steam to melt the oils as opposed to boiling water bubbling up against the bowl) but adding them later will assist lowering the temperature of those oils before adding the lye solution 😊. Oh, and adding Kaolin Clay to your batter will assist with anchoring the Essential Oils and add a lovely ‘slip’ to your soap, as well as its other detoxifying and soothing effects. Albeit Cedarwood is a Base Note thus anchors those middle and higher notes in a composition as well. 🌸🦄
First time watch. I was in a hurry for appointment. I was stuck in my living room chair, MESMERIZED! Maybe it was the music with slower movements, or maybe the great camera angles...whatever it was to keep me GLUED watching, good job!
Best soaping content on YT!! 😍 I have questions: -When would sodium lactate be added? -Did you warm the mold with a towel only or also in the oven? -would using cornstarch this way work in any soap recipe? I've seen clay powder, but excited to try this now. Hope it works for frag oils too! I'm soon to try your coconut lime recipe, adding a little vanilla bean& oatmeal for gentle exfoliation. Wish me luck 🙏🏾 -Do you offer 1:1 remote classes or would consider? I have your ebooks.. 😊 Thank You
Thank you so much!🥰 You can add sodium lactate at trace. I like to use the oven to make sure the soap stays warm, but this depends on the climate you're in, everyone doesn't have to use an oven. And yes you can use cornstarch in any recipe! Vanilla bean&oatmeal sounds great, hope it turns out😊 I don't know if I would be a good teacher like that hehe
I infused the oil for a few hours, 4-6 should be enough. I turn the stove off to make sure it doesn't get too hot, but try to keep an eye on it so that it doesn't cool down too much, if I need to I turn it back on for a short time and back off again😊 Hugs❤️
I think the fact that she doesn’t sell is part of why we enjoy the content. She’s not burnt out because she isn’t having to make massive amounts and it also gives her the freedom to experiment.
Ah soo gorgeous 😢 Such lovely essential oil blend!! I really love essential oils in soap making.. but sometimes they make me frustrated because they fade during curing time, and their scent don't stick to the skin no matter what we do💔💔 Sometimes i tell myself: why waste money on essential oils when i know they fade quickly 💔💔
Muchas grácias, al fin hé encontrado la respuesta, me parece muy interesante ya que no utilizas ningun colorante y esta raiz hace esta funcion. Lo malo será encontrar esra raiz
Thank you! it's really not blue at all, must be the lighting, it's a natural purple a bit muted so you could use more alkanet for a deeper color. I find it difficult to find the sweet spot for alkanet, I always use too little or too much
Many many bars later and I’m still experimenting with alkanet, it’s sooo difficult to get that natural lavender colour we all seem to be after. I’ve found that making an infusion, then using some of that oil for a very small batch and if it’s not purple enough, I add another tablespoon of alkanet to the already infused oil and infuse it again and this is slowly giving me a better colour. Not perfectly purple but I’m getting close 😂
Hi, I was wondering If you are shipping to Romania and Bulgaria? Also I was thinking If you can substute the citric acid with vinegar or the acids are not the same ?
What do you think of using 50%lye solution which you can prepare it and using it any time you want, master batching, like big cp soap companies. would you please make video using this method , because they say the curing time will be just 2 days not 4 weeks.
Do different ingredients need different amount of acetic acid and sodium hydroxide? how could you understand the amount of these chemicals for different soap?
The amount of sodium hydroxide is determined by the sap values of the oils used, citric acid is used by % of the oils. I would recommend my soap formulation guide: The soap formulator's workbook😊
I like the color ! Although, I wonder why you even infuse your olive oil with lavender ? Is it just for fun and aesthetics (which is a enough of a good reason IMO, no shame in that) ? You infuse so little of it I don't see how it could make a difference in the final product. Plus you still add essential oils. I don't think there is anything more to bring to the soap if you already add lavender essential oil.
