WHAT A FABULOUS SHOW THIS USED TO BE!! Those were the days. Clean fun that everyone could watch. No profanity, no wickedness just Lenny & Squiggy!? Such FUN!! Interesting to know what all went on behind the scenes. Just goes to prove: There's more to EVERYthing than meets the eye!!
So I guess I wasn't the only one who thought the show went downhill a bit after trading the grittiness of Milwaukee for the glitz and "glamour" of California. I never laughed so hard as I did when I saw those two lovable knuckleheads Lenny and Squiggy for the first time.
I use to watch this on Tuesday nights on ABC. I would also watch the reruns on weeknights on my local station. I miss the 80’s! RIP to the cast who are no longer with us.
Love this show..as alittle girl I would love to watch this show every week..now Iam in my 40s still loving it. Makes me laugh and remember who the world was back then.
You and me both...I feel like us Generation Xers must be some of the most nostalgic people on Earth because we have so much nostalgia at our fingertips...and because most of us aren't too crazy with the present day lol
Being born in 1971 Cindy truly was one of the definitions of beauty in my life..Both Cindy and Penny will always be those young girls just trying to make it to me..Shocking that both are now gone 😢
So many of the iconic stars we grew up watching are off to the Grand Opening in the sky. As a little boy I asked my Mom, "Why does God take the good people to Heaven and He leaves the putzes on earth 🌎 with us?" Her answer? She said, "God takes so many good people because He doesn't want to be surrounded by morons or idiots." God loves us all but again if given the choice would you want to be surrounded by some of the clowns you see here, or by nice decent people? Obviously it's a joke, but still it's not just funny but actually a reality too.
@@ethanshepherd4963 Maybe John Hughes, the director of those 1980s movies like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Home Alone, The Breakfast Club, etc. Gone too soon.
Since Cindy’s sad passing I started watching old Happy Days and L&S episodes. Laverne and Shirley has held up much better than Happy Days. It’s just funnier! I think because of all that physical comedy
It's hard to believe that Michael McKean is the only main cast member still alive.💔 I've loved Laverne and Shirley since it came on the air. It's always been one of my favorite shows! Thanks for the upload.💜
It’s the end of An era. This goes back to A time when there were live audiences, and if A joke bombed you knew it. Likewise if A joke landed you knew it. I think Lenny is the only one left from that cast. Sitcoms now don’t hav ethe same chemistry.
I love Laverne & Shirley they are so funny it's just too bad Penny Marshall is gone I think it would be funny if they did another show entitled Laverne and Shirley and now they are all grown up grandmothers that would be very funny
The 70's were a decade of wonderful memories, great 📺TV,📺 amazing movies, and childhood experiences and childhood adventures that were nothing short of amazing! These days movies are pathetically inept, the stories are weak, any mention of God is considered taboo. I MISS the 1970's and even the 80's. GREAT BANDS AND SUCH AMAZING CONCERTS! THE MUSICIANS WERE INSANELY TALENTED! It was so fun! From Ozzy Osborne to 👹Ronnie 👹James👹DIO👹, Iron Maiden to Twisted Sister, Metallica to Megadeath, AC⚡DC to Aerosmith, ⚘Guns⚘'N'⚘Roses⚘, 🐀Ratt🐀 Dokken, Skid Row, Tesla, ZZTop, Boston, Heart, The 🦅Eagles🦅, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Billy Squier, Whitesnake, Queensryche, W.A.S.P., Armored Saint, Warrant, Poison, Metal Church, The Cars, STYX, and my favorite band Mötley Crüe! From Alpine Valley, to the Mecca Arena, to Summerfest then State Fair park. Hell I even saw Kiss. So many bands, so many incredible shows and concerts. Lastly the most ICONIC AND PHENOMENAL CONCERT EXPERIENCE ANY ONE PERSON WOULD POSSIBLY HAVE. We got to see PINK FLOYD @ County Stadium 🏟 We were seated in the Upper Deck Box💺💺seats💺💺 about 9-10 rows back. 3rd base side of the field. We could see everything and it was truly an experience again like NO OTHER! Seeing Van Halen, the 🦂Scorpions🦂Cheap Trick, and getting to see Cliff Burton of Metallica play before he passed away and Randy Rhodes as well! Those were epic, but PINK FLOYD THAT'S UNMATCHED! The 70's and 80's were truly awesome!
❤ every bad and the memories I would not trade my childhood or teens for nothing I loved the commercials as well just about knew every tune on our commercials and sit coms
No mention of Big Rosie Greenbaum. I was disappointed when Rosie was dropped after Season 3. Betty Garrett started in Season 2, Mrs. Havenwurst (Helen Page Camp) was the original landlady.
All of these great performers will live on in our hearts. Thankful to have personally lived through this time. This was such a more innocent time in my life, before reality slapped me in the face (and mugged me in the alley). Thank you, Laverne & Shirley for making the world a little bit brighter and a nice place to live. RIP to all that have passed. Thankful for all that you did. Thank you to those still living for bringing laughter into our homes. God Bless You all and stay safe.
Sad to think that every actor in that teaser pic except Michael McKean/"Lenny" is dead now. Cindy Williams and Eddie Mekkaka ("Carmine, the Big Ragu") were the most recent to pass away. Appreciate people while they're around, Folks...
They also rerun Laverne & Shirley on multiple cable channels and streaming services. L&S is on the Happy Days channel on Pluto TV, the free/ad-supported streaming service owned by Viacom which owns Paramount, the studio that owns Happy and all its spin-off series (Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy). The thing is Happy Days gets top priority on Pluto TV. The other shows rotate in and out on the schedule. I can't tell you when L&S airs because the shedules shifts constantly!
The restaurant was called Cowboy Bill's not Cowboy Bob's. Also, although the girls dabbled in acting when they arrived in LA. they were not aspiring actresses with odd jobs. They were gift wrappers at a department store.
I hate official “CRITICS!” They have the absolute WORST taste possible. They are NEVER right. If critics don’t like something, then I can assume that I will love it.
I REALLY needed a lift tonight. Saw this in the feed and SMiLED! And tapped. AHHHH! Then learned Cindy Williams died 2 weeks ago... Oh my Gosh!!! It's kinda dark days with Harry and his Wife n all these vapid, mean spirited Influencers and Brands. I loved Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley and all the silliness back then, yes, but I kinda watched more because who wan"t watching every Tuesday night? You had to know all the new bits the next day at school! Secretly,, I thought it was all kinda too light and too goofy. Now - These shows seem almost deep. They were kind. They were honest and moral. There was always a good vibe. Pepsi and milk solved all our problems...I'd take it. RIP Cindy and ALL THE REST OF YOU SILLY, WONDERFUL PEOPLE. Thank you for a somewhat innocent childhood.
I worked in Milwaukee in the ‘80s. The city was getting tired of their blue collar reputation. The city hired an ad firm (who I also employed) They came up with a series of ads that were titled, “Shirley we’ve had this reputation too long”. Pure genius.
Oh, I loved this show. It reminded me so much of I Love Lucy. RIP Penny Marshall, Cindy Williams, David Lander and everyone. Amazing to think Michael McKean is the only one of this wonderful ensemble show still kicking! He's so great on Better Call Saul. Such a talented actor. I would have loved seeing Lenny and Squiggy as Michael and David wanted to do them.
David was great on the show and as the head weasel in Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Michael is great as Grandpa Lou in the reboot of Rugrats...😊😊😊also may David, Penny, Cindy, Phil, Betty and Gary all rest in sweet peace.😢😢😢😢😢
Cindy and Penny cut a novelty album, "Laverne and Shirley Sing". Cindy and Penny may not have been very good singers, but their performances were ribtickling!
Stupid move for them to go to California. Suddenly they wanted to be in show biz? Made no sense. The only performing they did was in the Shotz talent shows.
Being in show biz was never a core plot element of the show (there's a singular episode about this and no more). The move was a bit contrived (Frank and Edna had already moved there, the girls lost their jobs and followed), but done largely for ratings, and still some pretty good material came out of seasons 6 & 7.
Happy Days was produced by Miller and Mike the company would later go on to be know as Miller/Boyette which would later on go to produce hit the TV shows such as Bosom Buddies Valerie/Hogan Family Hanging with Mr. Cooper Malcolm and Eddie Step By Step Family Matters Getting By On Our Own Perfect Stranger Full House and many more hit TV shows
