I brought this in Cambridge , UK because of the lockdown. Did not want to keep going to the shop to get beer, I have to say with proper tonic water like schweppes/ fever tree , ice , slice of lemon = a divine drink, I love it .
not really. if you take vodka and mix with with essential oils extracted from the same botanicals, just mix them together with a vodka, it wouldn't be the same at all. the production process infuses all the 10 botanicals and the base alcohol into a single, highly complex ethanol molecule.
Gin is infused grain spirit, vodka is grain spirit so yes gin is vodka. Gin has to have juniper berries to be classed as a gin the rest is just down to preference of the manufacturer. Vodka is turned to gin by either the maceration or vapour infused process
Waking every morning to make and taste the best Gin in the world is surely a bliss. although meant to be not distractive, I would have enjoyed the background music more to be Piero Umiliani, Ole Jensen, Keith Mansfield or Syd Dale´s. Try watching this, listening to Keith Mansfield - Life of Leisure (1968) while having a sip... and enjoy.
I just bought a bottle of this, and the last time I drank this I was like 22, a friend came over at a party with this. Drinking and smoking some stuff, next thing I know he’s like Matt, you’re due for a shot, so I took a huge drink off of a bottle of this. Needless to say I don’t remember much of that night but it was my birthday. Usually I drink whiskey but I was just curious as to how this stuff is made. My dad drank gin, random fact. After watching though this, I can tell that this man, is very passionate and serious about Bombay. Idk man, should I keep drinking whiskey or switch to something like this
@@matarazzo209 I think that’s the most common way to drink it from some research I’ve done about it. I’ll have to try it sometime. Lime is always good especially in a corona. Last time I had a bottle of this, I was mixing it with cranberry juice in one of my whiskey glasses 😮💨
Dear Mr Fordham, where were original botanicals in 1761 from? how was the process of finding all the actual botanicals through out the world? how were they found to become the best?. thanks for a very insightful video, will sure be visting when possible!. Cheers
I imagine the locations expressed here were the original origins as well. The British have been importing from China and the rest of Asia at least since the 1600's, for instance, Chinese tea became popular in England in the 1720's.
Lady was really like that place . And she put the name my lovley place .. they made 1st time helthy gin from srilanka . Its was helthy gin .. but not brandat ..

Bacardi actually - nurtured by seven generations of the Bacardi family - is a vibrant, family-owned spirits company, as well as the world's largest privately held spirits company........Coca Cola???????
I like how everything is "delicately" and "gently" put into this. At the end all liquor tastes like shit. No matter how much ive spent on a bottle of alcohol it always tastes like...alcohol
@Amin oh yea, definitely. But it all tastes horrible either way, ive never had a bottle of liquor or beer that has tasted great. Bombay is definitely my favorite clear liquor by far, but it still tastes horrible
@@llcooljay3776 Sugar syrup in drinks like long islands stop it. Or even if you're in the southern hemisphere use LnP from New zealand with scotch. tastes good. Lest still tastes like fire, just not so much.
@@jaydentownsend5402 I was just saying straight alcohol, if you take a shot of any liquor it tastes bad. Ive had amazing mixed drinks, but not 1 good shot
How now making totally wrong .this is england safari not bombay safri .. bombey safri is using another herbs and lemon and another things .. its was really good smail
Your claim ....... "The only London Dry Gin to use 100% vapour infusion in its distillation" ...... Excuse me but I don't think so !!! That is absolutely not the case.
Bombay was made to be a brand. Marketed heavily from the start in 1986. Tanqueray or Gordon's might be global brands as well, but have some history at least. Charles Tanqueray was an innovator at the time, just like your everyday ginhipster wants to be. We're standing on his shoulders. Hendrick's is a bit different as well as it actually has some artisanal craft in it. Bombay is just plain rubbish marketed well by slick guys that present themselves well, just as this video.
@@Barthijzz At the end of the day, gin is just juniper berries and a bunch of other botanicals added to vodka. It's the combination of those botanicals that makes each gin unique. I happen to quite like the combination that Bombay Sapphire produces, and I like it better than Tanqueray or (ugh) Gordon's. Whatever its history or marketing, if it didn't taste fabulous, nobody would buy a second bottle. I have bought many, many bottles of Bombay, so they must be doing something right. But go on, you keep drinking your oily, nasty Gordons.
@@blairmulhollandOh there's more to that than just adding botanicals to vodka. It's not about the taste, but the respect for the brand. I don't like Gordon's, but I'd never want to be associated drinking Bombay. If I'd have to choose a massive brand I'd actually like the taste from, gimme Plymouth all day.
@@Barthijzz respect for the brand huh. That's pretty silly. Just drink what you enjoy. I really enjoy Bombay Sapphire. There's no point getting snobby about it.
Why the distracting background music, don't want us to listen to the spokesperson? RU-vid is going to have to progress beyond just being an excuse to foist your music choices unto others - there is a great potential here to share other types of information.
The only thing Bombay have mastered is advertising. Their gin is total garbage in comparison to the countless craft gin distillers around now. I can only assume anyone that likes Bombay hasn't actually tried any other gins.
Ya I totally agree. Like I got suckered into bombay because of their bottle. Their gin is definitely not as good as tanq or other brands for sure. Its nicely bottled trash gin.
I've tried plenty, and Bombay is my favourite by far. Gin is not complicated, it's all in the mix of the botanicals. "Craft gin" is a con - there's nothing special about adding juniper berries to vodka. But if you want to pay $40 for something like that when you could just pay $20 for Bombay, which, in fact, tastes amazing, knock yourself out.
@@da9564 righteo champ, I remember drinking my first gin too. The funny thing about your comment is that the most common gin that bums on the street drink is Bombay because it's so cheap and available everywhere 🤣
