LaVivid Tyler Hair System: bit.ly/3QMXygq
Today, you'll be getting some of those because it's the six-month review of the LaVivid Tyler hair system.
Review Breakdown
We'll be breaking this review into four segments:
Realism 1:05
Density 2:13
Price 3:18
Comfort 4:08
We'll look at the pros and cons of each and discuss what we'll do moving forward. But before we start, here's a quick message from today's sponsor.
Segment 1: Realism
Six months into this system, the best way to judge realism is by looking at the hairline. I've brought my paddle brush with me, and I'll go up close to the camera so you can see the details. This system has been in place for about a week and a half since my last reapplication. As you can see, not bad for six months!
Lace Condition: It's a French frontal, and the lace is still holding up well despite regular cleaning. Usually, the lace starts deteriorating due to the cleaning of glue or tape from the front.
Realism: While it may not look as flawless as Swiss lace or a new French lace, it’s important to remember this system is six months old with a maximum lifespan of 8-12 months.
Segment 2: Density and Shedding
Density: This system has 100% density, ideal for someone in their 20s, 30s, or 40s.
Shedding: Minimal shedding, likely due to the three-layered base which secures the knots well.
Age Considerations: If you're in your 50s or 60s, 100% density might be too thick. I recommend custom systems for those 50 and above due to natural hair thinning.
Segment 3: Price
Cost: $389, which can be cheaper with my discount code. This price is for a system that lasts 8-12 months.
Value: Compared to LaVivid's Thor French lace, which lasts four months, paying an extra $80 for the Tyler system that lasts three times longer is a significant money saver.
Segment 4: Comfort
Comparison: This system is much comfier than a monofilament base. I can wear it for 7-10 days before needing to clean and rebond.
Comfort Level: It's not as comfy as a French lace, Swiss lace, or ultra-thin skin, but it's on par with a 0.08 to 0.1 mm poly system.
Personal Experience: I wore this in the Caribbean where it was 90°F daily, and it was still comfortable.
Future Outlook
I'm expecting to get at least another four months out of this system, aiming for the full 12 months.
Summary
Realism: Pretty realistic with a decent hairline.
Density: Great for younger ages; consider custom systems if older.
Price: Excellent value, lasting much longer than other systems.
Comfort: Comfortable for extended wear, though not the absolute best.
Bonus Insight
For those who stuck around until the end: I used a semi-permanent dye after a Caribbean trip over a month ago, and the color blend with my natural hair still looks good.
Conclusion
I'm thrilled with the Tyler system. If you're considering a hair system, this is one I highly recommend. For a comparison, check out my two-month review of this system, linked on the screen now.
