Nadine Strossen, who argued cases before the Supreme Court for the American Civil Liberties Union, pointed out that under the case of Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), protesters have a right under our First Amendment even to advocate violent or lawless conduct. The line is crossed only at incitement to imminent violence. You didn't see any actual violence, merely speech that you found offensive. The Chicago Principles of academic freedom of expression protects offensive speech in the university. You should realize that many of these Palestinian students have had family members killed by the Israelis -- sometimes their entire families. It sounds like the stories of some Jewish Holocaust survivors, like Norman Finkelstein, whose mother and father were the only survivors of their family, and who defends the Palestinians. Netanyahu and many of his cabinet members have been literally calling for the killing of all Palestinians (that's what "Amalek" means) -- and they have already killed at least 35,000 men, women and children. I'm more concerned about the killing of children than I am about offensive speech. I don't understand why you aren't.
